I went out to lunch with my mom today. We went to Cora's which is a small chain that only serves breakfast and lunch. Mostly crepes, waffles, that sort of thing. My mom had been a couple of times before and really liked the food. We had the worst waitress I've had in any restaurant in a long time. First off, my Mom ordered a crepe with

Thats a shame, bad service will totally ruin a restaurant for me. I went to the Cora's downtown Toronto once and although it was delicious it was hard to not feel like you were being rushed out the door.

We had a waiter at TGIFridays a week or so ago that informed us that "people that, like, go to chapters and buy books and read them at home are stupid." Paul actually put his hand over my mouth and told the kid to go away so I didn't say anything horrible.

He'd also forgotten a bunch of things and was generally weird and full of inappropriate comments. We complained on the way out and got 20% cards and extra free movie tickets. But wow. Who SAYS that to people?

I've been to the Cora's in Oakville three times now. I had really good service twice and reasonable service the third time.

Sorry to hear you had a sucky waitress.
