He doesn't know what a true weakness is until he meets her.

It's simple.
They're going to set the world on fire; blaze their way across oceans and countries. The orphan and the surviver on a mission to save the earth. To protect humanity.
They make their plans beneath silk sheets, bodies still thrumming as they come down from their highs. His hand brushes red tangles from her face, his fingers lingering against her cheek in a slow caress. Her hand slides up and down his thigh and then slides between his legs, making him jump because he's still sensitive. Tess laughs, a beautiful sound that'll echo long after this night is over. Her eyes dance as she removes her hand to shimmy it up and squeeze his bicep.
He falls in love with the way she moves, with the strength hugging her curves, and the way she smiles as if he's the one saving her.

Tess is the better actor.

The world descends into madness and the sky turns into a bloody red.
It's hell on earth.
He's part of the resistance. She's part of the problem, attaching herself to the other side like she belongs there. Oliver knows she truly believes that Zod and his minions will be the saviors in a new world, and wonders when she became so naive.

He hardens himself against her because he has to in order to survive. (A weakness from the moment they met.) Because he fears she has the ability to pull him into the cesspool of evil she's swimming laps in.
But that doesn't mean he stops trying to save her.

In the end, he holds her as she dies. Her heart stops beneath his fingertips and his tears land on her face. He whispers words of comfort that she can no longer hear.
