It isn't long before black eyes and bruises shatter what remains of her first home. Happiness scatters like broken glass, leaving behind trails of lies and wide-eyed fear; until she turns twenty-four. Then, she throws her legs over a second hand motorcycle, kicks up dust, and rides off as the fire burns.
Home becomes cheap motels and hair dye, and the constant need to look over her shoulder. It's a gun tucked into her jeans, cons, and a dead best friend.
When an old man needs money, it turns into handcuffs and the sound of screams as the plane crashes. Home is an island. A man.
