Actually from Monday...

1. You know everyone gets all worked about hurricanes and where the eye is hitting blah, blah, blah but you know what after being done in this area for my entire life (scattered) I would have the say that the outer bands get the worst of it. Because the eye & immediate area is almost always evacuated so all you have to deal with is the after effects (which can no doubt suck) but the outer bands stay put and get all the rain, wind & tornadoes that come off it. Their plans and days are the ones ruined because you're pretty much housebound - on a holiday! At least for us if the eye came near we would go to our parents in Huntsville (AL) but no we just crappy weather all weekend long.

2. John is home on federal holidays (being a federal employee) which as much as I love him SUCKS because it messes with our entire schedule & routine. If we are actually travelling or doing something when he's off then it's fine (even great) but home all day in crappy weather is painful. God bless him, he tries to be helpful letting me sleep in, feeding Erin etc but it really just messes things up because then Erin doesn't nap when she should, doesn't eat what she's used to when she's used to it etc. He doesn't see a problem with her having a lunch of graham sticks, snackin' crackers & pinch of cheese! Then wonders why she's still crying and fussy
. Then I try to do our usual exercise routine (in a break from the weather) and it's 20 questions time: where are you going, why, when will you be back, are you taking Erin, why don't you use the Gazelle - because it gets too hot - should I unassemble it & store it - no I use it when cooler and/ or completely unfit to go out etc - well that's stupid. Ugh! And his patience level is much lower then mine & Erin can sense that so gets even fussier OR finds that he is easier to maniuplate

3. Anybody want a gently used 9.5mth girl? Seriously she is on my last nerve!
She is way too clever for her own good and figures out things she shouldn't and has figured out how easily maniuplated daddy is (which he just thinks is cute). We have been doing this pulling up/ standing/ walking with a finger in each hand/ walking with anything that moves for almost 2 Months and she is very good at it, nearly everyone has been saying "she'll walk anyday", "very soon you'll have a walker on your hands" etc and yet will she do it independent? NOOOO of course not. Why? Because she is her mother's daughter & I'm getting paid back for all the torment I caused my mom. She doesn't do *anything* unless she knows she can do it perfect. And she has been extradornairly fussy, needy this weekend whch she always is right before a developmental leap so it had better be soon for my sanity!

4. Speaking of fore mentioned girl, she decided it would be fun to mash buttons on my laptop - result? It took 11 HOURS for her 2 geeky parents to get it working again - hence I haven't been on all afternoon/ night (if you noticed, may not have!). And to make it worse, neither of us (John or I) know what the h*** she did to it!
.....On a postive note, since I had to dig up all my system & backup disks I found my copy of Photoshop!
....In any case she has been completely banned from the computers and decided to throw a temper tantrum bceause we kept moving her away from them which lasted for (get this) a hour from a 9.5 mth old!

5. Since we were focused on operation save the computer we kinda forgot about dinner. So I went to Wal-mart (w/ Erin) - BIG mistake. Only Super Wal-mart in the city + usual clientle + tropical weather threat (it had really past but yeah...) ugh! So I finally got back home & prepare to make potato soup but...the potatoes won't bake! So after an hour they barely give to touch but I give up peel & dice them and throw them in the pot. It's getting to late for Erin to eat so daddy feeds her another meal of champions: leftover aspargus spear sliced, snackin' crackers & applesauce
. Time to get her ready for bed: pees everywhere, tries to escape new diaper both parents must hold her down, escapes again - mom can't find sleeper so just wrestles an almost too small onesie on, escapes again but too cold to just sleep like that so wrestle pants on, attempt to ready story while she's trying to demolish her room, finally stick her in crib & she's finally out! We finally eat at 2030 (8:30 pm) and spend another 3 hrs working on comp!
