Is this funny or sad?

Having been re-living my childhood in therapy for about 8 months now, I came to a few conclusions about my mother. One of them involves her interest in driving while under the influence of painkillers. SO, here's the story:

When I was 12, my mother was in the middle of her 'mounds bar' phase. Every six months or so, she would jump from one food to another, consuming ONLY that food. For quite awhile, she only ate coconut mounds bars. Crazy, right? One day, she came to pick me up from swim practice after having tossed back a few 'dolls.' Before she pulled out of the parking space, she frantically ripped the Mounds bar wrapping off. She took a bite, and then slammed on the gas pedal. Not thinking that other cars frequent parking lots, she nearly hit another car with this maneuver. The woman driving the other car began to honk and give my mother the finger. Believing this noise to be an affront on her eating habits (I guess), my mom rolled down the window, craned her head out and screamed "That's right, bitch, I'm eating my Mounds bar."

So I ask, is this sad, or oddly amusing?
