Fun character meme!

I'm on leave today! Yay! Now if only I won't have to go back to a butt-load of work...

In any case, I was given the letter "L" by jeannev to list 5 fictional characters and make comments about them. In no particular order,

1. Lois Lane from Smallville

Beautiful new still from S8 of SV:

Yup, this is a pretty predictable pick for me, considering my girl-crush on SV's Lois Lane, as played by the gorgeous Erica Durance. Somehow, I just never got Margot Kidder and Teri Hatcher's Lois Lanes. (I won't even mention Kate Bosworth.) But SV's Lois really does it for me - she's funny, sexy, gets in over her head, is a little loud and obnoxious on the outside but pretty soft-hearted and vulnerable on the inside... And to top it all off, I love it when she and Clark befuddle each other with the occasional display of care and concern. So cute.

2. Lucius Malfoy from Harry Potter

*gibber*

I love the whole Malfoy family, and how can one not drool over an icy blonde beauty, dressed in slinky wizard robes and carrying a Snaky Pimp!Cane? Especially when he's played by the lovely Jason Issacs.

There's just something about snooty evil blondies that I fall for. Heh. And I flove how at the end, it was shown that ultimately, he cares more for his family than for power.

3. Lucy Pevensie from The Chronicles of Narnia

Georgie Henley was a cute kid in the Narnia movies, but I have to admit, I didn't think she would blossom into such a pretty young woman. Puberty seems to be treating her well, LOL.

Lucy's my least favorite Pevensie child, but that's not saying a lot, cos I really like all of them. I suppose the only reason why she's not quite as interesting as the rest of her siblings is because she sort of comes across as Aslan's pet. ^_^;

You know, a bit of a goodie-two-shoes who never seems to put a foot wrong, which is why the Magician's Island part in The Dawn Threader is such an intriguing chapter. Lucy reads the Magician's book, and gives in to temptation by all the wonderous spells she finds in it. It made her feel less of a Mary-Sue-ish character, and I'm really looking forward to it in the next movie!

4. L Lawliet from Death Note (the movie)

Who would have thought that a pale, dishevelled genius detective with bad posture, dark under-eye circles and a fetish for sweets would become so popular?

But let's face it: he pwns the Death Note series. L makes things which might have been off-putting, somehow seem oh-so-attractive. His languid attitude becomes cool; his sweet tooth is translated as "adorable!", and his intuitive super-intelligence is just... well... hot. And of course, he makes having a single letter for a name seem so stylish.

In the film adaptations of the comic books, L is played by Kennichi Matsuyama, who absolutely nailed the character both physically as well as in terms of his acting choices.

*wants to nibble on Matsuyama's thumb too*

5. Leonardo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

My favourite ninja turtle. Heh. I've always had a soft spot for the 'fearless leader-with-a-stick-up-his-butt' type (see my love for Cyclops, Apollo, etc). I blame it on Leo. Perhaps it all stemmed from my early childhood love for this blue bandana-wearing, double katana-wielding hero in-a-half-shell.

Other candidates I considered using for this meme: Lana Lang, Lex Luthor, Lionel Luthor from Smallville, Lucius Vorenus from Rome, Lee Adama aka Apollo from Battlestar Galactice, Laurana from the Dragonlance series.
