could there be a less likely pairing?

Because clearly the world needed more fic based on the unlikely pairings that Warped Tour made possible. *face/palm*

Drew Thomsen/Travis McCoy (We The Kings & Gym Class Heroes)

350 words

This is 100% fiction. Except that TAI, CS, & GCH *did* have a day off after the Houston date at Warped, before they went on to New Orleans and did an off-Warped show.

It's weird, because if you asked, Drew would say that he liked the Gym Class Heroes well enough, but he wasn't a particular fan. There's no reason for him to be haunting the side of the stage for their set. He is a fan of Cobra's, though - Ryland and VickyT had been pretty cool when they hung out on tour last winter - so there's nothing unusual about him stopping by to see their set. If he happens to do so on days that Travie's likely to perform the rap in Snakes On A Plane, well, that's just a coincidence.

Really.

It has nothing to do with the hazy memory of warm smoke and chapped lips against his own. Nothing to do with the recollection of fingers in his hair, a warm palm against his cheek, guiding his chin. Nothing to do with lazy kisses on a dusty, humid evening in Houston when they were too tired and too comfortable to move from the corner they were using to watch the rest of the guys as they celebrate a day off Warped.

It's really not a big deal.

Except that suddenly Drew has a new collection of pictures on his laptop of Travie with his band, and Travie with Beckett, and Travie with Gabe. (Shut up, Hunter, Drew is totally not as much of an internet stalker as Ryan Ross; he's read the LiveJournal entries, okay? Iam_clandestine? Not so much.) There're a few photos of Travie with Katy, and okay, she's hot enough, but Drew's just as glad that that's done. And maybe he's watched the video to Snakes On A Plane and Cupid's Chokehold and Clothes Off a time or ten in the last few days.

But, yeah, it's totally not an issue.

So he stands toward the back of the tent and watches, nodding along to the beat, and if he maybe can't look away from Travie, well, he tells himself that he's no worse than the kids at the barrier, the girls and guys who wait for them at the gates or near the bus.

bandom, rps
