Should do a lot of stuff for univeristy but I really don't want to. Not interesting! Much more interesting are Doctor Who and X-Files, see under the cuts below.
BTW I don't want to be spoiled concerning the X-Files movie. Thoughts and theories are ok, just no facts pease. THX.
And yes I know, the fonts change in this entry, I'm just to lazy to correct it.
Midnight was just brilliant! I was so surprised by that episode and I would have never expected to see such an episode in Dr. Who. It is so simple, just about humans. I mean, of course there is the possession thing, but that is not the most important thing. Creepy though, this constant repeating.
Behavioural science is something that fascinates me since my school days. For my psychology “Matura” I chose the topic of psychology of the masses. This deals with a great number of people and when and why a crowd becomes a mass, meaning that suddenly they think and act as one.
In case of Midnight it is a small group of people, so not exactly a mass. The episode reminded me of an CSI (Las Vegas, the only real CSI) where a group of people kill a man on a flight. It is the mix of fear and immediate danger of death in a small, closed environment that reduces people to act on the most primitive impulse, the survival instinct. It is just such an interesting topic and makes you think: “What would I do in this situation?” I don’t think you can really say that, because if you are in that situation, rational thought is not really possible anymore. Of course everybody hopes that when the time comes you will react better, but in a tense situation like that, when you fear for your life, who can tell what you will do?
Brilliant episode, I also loved the beginning. The Doctor is so relaxed. It’s nice to see him like that. And I love when he shouts at them about being clever and they bunch up against him. Of course he is clever, more clever than any of them, but in this situation he is forced to realize how this comment is received by others.
But the Rose thing was a joke. We had that already and just because it was a bit longer…I mean she’s already in the next episode. Of course I would have loved for the Doctor to see her, but at least someone could have seen her and said “Who is that blonde woman?” And when that Doctor turns around he either sees Rose out of the corner of his eye or he just sees the singer. But someone should have seen her. This is getting boring.
No not boring, not ever boring. Rose could never be boring! But still…
I’m really curious about the next episode. I just hope absolutbritish is wrong. She fears that maybe it isn’t even the Doctor that will be stupid in the reunion but Rose. That she has changed too much. And from all the glimpses I have seen of her so far.. I can just see that. it is the perfect (for the makers of the show) solution to the whole thing: the Doctor is not the bad guy, because he is so happy to have her back and maybe even wants more and Rose doesn’t. I hope that is not true.
Oh, and Donna will not die. I hope she will find the cute guy in the end. I said that after the last episode: she should hook up with that guy. Would be the perfect solution for the Donna-leaving thing, because I don’t want her to die or forget or having to be back on earth in our time, that would make her so unhappy.
Anyway, I’m confused, tired and weird in my head and should do stuff for university but don’t want to. Gna.
On X-Files: I get that people didn’t like the end. After thinking about it a bit it isn’t really an end, or a positive end and it doesn’t explain so much. Basically it repeats the whole alien/government conspiracy, shows the viewer what happened and that all those things are connected and will lead to the colonisation of earth and that it is unstoppable. As I said it is not the end I expected, not that I expected anything in particular, but certainly not that, maybe a farfetched explanation and solution. I like this ending much better. It is dark, but there is a glimmer of hope. maybe I can appreciate the finale more since I already know that there will be a movie soon. Everyone else had to wait six years and probably began to doubt if it would ever come. I am fairly certain that they expected a movie, because as I said there is no real end to the conspiracy story. I think is brilliant, because they used the finale to boil everything down so that the movie doesn’t have to do that and loose to much time on that. God, at least I hope so. But if they want to make the movie viewable for everyone…. No, stop it, I don’t want to worry about this. I have enough worries about Doctor Who! And they didn’t do it in the first movie. Everything is good!
