X-Files forever!
It is a beautiful day! and I am saying that although I have a whole day of university ahead of me. I’m already sitting on my place, 4 more minutes until it starts. But right now it is really a beautiful day. For once I woke up before my alarm went off and had no problems with getting up. Then a good breakfast. my um brought me to university and I walked across the campus. the sky is blue, sun shining, not as cold as yesterday but not too warm, a little bit of wind, which I like, not so many people on the campus. I enjoyed that walk immensely. And I finished watching X-files yesterday and I’m so happy and content with how the show ended. Total contentment is what I’m feeling right now. it is just incredible that they managed to give the show a fitting and worthy end. And one that makes sense. And one that clarifies the Mulder/Scully relationship. In short an episode that has everything that you expected and more, much more.
Under the cut is my immediate reaction to the episode, after I watched it last night.
OMG, OMG, OMG!!!!!! That was just brilliant and so beautiful I almost had to cry! I’m talking about the finale of X-Files. I just couldn’t imagine how one could give this series a worthy and good ending. But they did it perfectly. The concept is just so amazing. They managed to reduce this whole big complicated conspiracy to the most important elements, reminding the audience of them and making sense of the whole thing. And I was correct before, Spender did turn up in the finale. Everybody turns up again, dead or alive. And it works, it just works beautifully. I don’t want to say to much, because I want
absolutbritish to read this entry, but not get spoiled too much, because the experience of that episode is just so amazing and I don’t want to destroy that for her.
While watching the episode I even became afraid of the movie coming out, because the episode was so good, I thought a movie could possible ruin the whole thing. But the end leaves room for a film or several films. I’m in awe of how brilliant they managed the whole thing.
I love the end. It all ends in a motel room in Roswell, New Mexico. I think that is just so great, because there are so many scenes with Mulder and Scully in motel rooms and Roswell….. it is a very fitting end.
And with that I will end. Just this much: I can’t wait for the movie and I am so glad I managed to watch all the episodes.
