A pretty low-key day today, I was up early enough to do some catching up on mail and other reading, before we headed over to Balboa Park to see an OMNIMAX movie about the national parks at the science museum there (with some science museum visiting, and lunch, beforehand). It was pretty cool, and the kids liked it, contra a lot of complaining from Junie about how she was sure it would be boring. I had one of my Patty's burritos as a late lunch, and it was super yummy; we then hung around the house and played for the rest of the afternoon (Junie orchestrated a birthday party for her newly-acquired red panda stuffed animal, which was cute and reasonably fun). Jim & Sue made dinner, and we then watched Yellow Submarine afterwards, which was trippy and weird, and which I must have seen as a kid at some point, because there were familiar bits I didn't remember, including some that echoed as scary, like the Chief Blue Meanie's voice, and Glove, in particular. Q was a little scared, but liked it, while Junie was not scared, but thought it was pretty weird, but liked it. :^) Now they are in bed, and I should be too.
