Parted-At-Birth Twins Got Married. Uh, oops?
I was thinking recently about how incest isn't just a taboo in the sense that it's bad. It's taboo in that people don't like to even talk about it; they don't like to acknowledge its existence. Which is something I find strange. We talk about murder, right? We talk about all sorts of horrific things. But there's this thing where even talking about incest is perceived as suspicious. And that breeds total ignorance. (I include myself in this. I was shocked at how little I knew about incest
until I started researching it.) The upshot of this ignorance is, well, people getting married to their siblings by mistake. o__O
