let's talk about comedy panel shows and how I LOVE them...

With Noel Fielding and Kristen Schaal being adorably touchy-feely and assisting my fantasies of a Mighty Boosh/Flight Of the Conchords crossover. \o/
Also! I missed Have I Got News For You on Friday (as I am wont to do), but I caught the extended version last night and it was with disbelief and delight that I saw Russell Brand was a guest. I LOVE RUSSELL BRAND, OKAY? I can kiiind of understand why other people find him smug/annoying/capable of eating babies (or whatever charges people baselessly level against him), but I think he is charming. He is a charming man! (See what I did there? How I made reference to the Smiths, because Russell's hero is Morrissey? *zing!*) He is intelligent and earnest (so earnest!) and never less than engaging. He doesn't have the sharpest wit, but he is one of the most consistently amusing comedians I can think of. (Ponderland frequently made me cry with laughter.) So there.
The ep doesn't seem to be on the yube yet (sigh), but you can watch some unseen footage here. Russell and Ian Hislop really do need to be the odd couple in some reality show. Heeeeart!
