and in Glasgow this week...(pic heavy)

another week in glasgow, means that you get some new photos of my trip..however i have to limit the number i am posting or i will have nothing to show off when i get home, and well, how boring would that be...however, found a dream drink that we will have to have at my 'party like a european' party that i would like to host when i get home sometime...lol, and if you know of this drink already please don't tell anyone else so it can be a suprise...

Carol-Ann and I decided to go to the Glasgow Cathedral (moments away from where we live) after a movie late last week.  We got some awesome shots of the Cathedral as it is light at night, until we realized we were standing in the middle of a graveyard at essentially midnight...so we booked it out of there...

This is Carol-Ann freezing in the middle of the night at the Cathedral.

Here as an interlude (so you all have to look) is my beautiful Clapotis, my current knitting project for those interested the final product is at Knitty's Clapotis
At the beginning:

One other knitting note, this is the local "knitting boutique" needles to say its not a yarn store that I will/want to frequent, however that aside, here is me out front of it.

So, back to lovely Glasgow:
upon arriving at Strathclyde, we were informed that laundry was 1.60 pounds for a wash and 6min for 20 pence in the drier, so i promptly went to an outdoor shop and purchased a travel clothing line (two peices of elastic twisted around each other with hooks on the end, you pull your clothing through the peices to secure it..) this is laundry day in my room, just to note it was very 'tropical' for a day or so

For the day i had to keep my curtain closed and the door because we are not supposed to have laundry lines, however when its not in use i just hang it on the curtain rod so all is well.

All the museums and galleries in Glasgow are free which is awesome because if on the way to somewhere you want to stop in you can look at just one display at a time or just a half hours worth instead of planning for a full day.  This is Carol-Ann and Naomi in front of the Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art where we went to see a 'figurative' display last week.

I love the mosaic in the top with the mirrors, its very pretty!

Carol-Ann and I went to Bassar Market, which is advertised as a really cool market and such but is in truth very dingy, however through out there were vans with mobile cctv units...its so weird to have them move the cameras facing in different directions and such....you can see the cameras moving when you are walking down the street as they are always monitored by the police instead of patrolling....its creepy...and if you stare at them long enough they 'wave' to note that they are watching you watch 'them'

I quickly snapped this pic as I wasn't sure how much they would appreciate me taking a photo.

After the market we went to People's Palace which has this beautiful fountain out front.  Enough said you'll understand.

This is another church we walked by one evening while out and is beautifully lit.

And because I can, here is a photo of me one night when I was getting ready to go out, note that for the first time in a year I was able to wear my hair reasonably 'up' instead of standard down with texturing stuff that I've had for the past year : ) i was very excited..

Last but not least, they have good pasta salads and such at the grocery stores here, and so after purchasing one i discovered i had nothing to eat it with, upon further reading though...the fork is built in...

This is the ten commandments Glasgow style...

Well hope you all enjoyed another taste of Glasgow and have a rocking weekend. I will I'm headed to a distillery tomorrow and then probably only around the city on Sunday as they are calling for snow, however, everyone has been saying this but it doesn't smell or look like its goign to snow, but everyone is either from the South of the USA or Australia so they're hoping for snow.  We've definatly had the coolest weather of our stay so far though with freezing temperatures several times this week already.  Hopefully it will go back to lovely cool dry plus temperatures in a few days.

Love hugs, happy travels and crazy pics of Norway as I'm going there soon in the next batch...
