One more Yuletide rec
So, before Judd Winick became the bane of comic book fangirls everywhere, he wrote a delightfully crude and very funny series called The Adventures of Barry Ween, Boy Genius. Which probably sounds like six other series you've read, but it came out in 1999, so it probably pre-dates them.
It's sort of like the mutant lovechild of South Park and Dexter's Laboratory: Barry's brilliant and his vocabulary would make a sailor blush. But it's also got a sweet undercurrent to it and an ending which is surprisingly somber. And that brings us to the fic:
Title: Flowers for Barry Ween
Summary: Four years ago, Barry changed. Now it's up to his friends to change him back.
Why you should read it: Because it's Barry and his friends all grown up but still themselves. Because it it reads *exactly* like something from canon. In fact, as far as I'm concerned, it *is* canon. Seriously, I want to adopt this fic and take it home. And, y'know, I may have sniffled just a bit at the end there. Because, guh. Yes. Love.
