Halving my weight

Nov 16, 2008 13:45

So today I turned in all of the oodles of gear (some useful, most not so much) that the Army issued me all those moons ago and let me tell you it feels great. It's quite an odd feeling not packing heat after doing so for so long. Having that nine mil with me was so ubiquitous that being without it is quite odd. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to no longer have the need to carry a weapon everywhere I go, but I feel... different. The rest of the day will, I'm sure, be spent sleeping and watching DVD's with some obligatory football-watching later this evening. Of course, football doesn't start until 9 o'clock at night here so unless I want to stay up all night I'll have to content myself with watching highlights tomorrow. Oh well, next week I'll be watching it at regular time hopefully in the presence of old friends. Well, I seem to be hearing the siren call of my rack beckoning me for nap time. It's a rough life. See you soon.
