[Secular argument, in all of it's poorly written glory-I'm too lazy to fix all the typos]
It's hard to convince myself I'm human; no, I'm not perfect, but some of the shit humans are capable of and do on a daily basis, it is insulting to associate myself with this species. Sure, we have done good, but that's only because people are working on bettering the result of mistakes made by other people. The planet and everything living on it is suffering because of "us" and the behaviors characteristic to only humanity, this is why I laugh when cruel, hateful, and insensitive acts are called "inhumane." Fuck no, that entire prefix is a lie. Humanity is foul, don't delude yourselves into thinking that humans are all lovey dubby, intelligent, etc., no, we have no claim to that. Sure, we can do it, but it's not like it's not shared by other species. No, what we do own is hate. What we do own is the capability to reap lives as thought they were granules of sand, and think of them as nothing more. Names like "hamburger" and "hot dog" are to distract as from reality so that when we look at it, it's nothing more than a cute name and something to satisfy our little taste buds. Even then, there's all this bull shit circulating about how we're so fucking fabulous we can pretty much do whatever the fuck we want because, hey, we're at the top of the food chain, and anything below us is game, it's just a matter of what we're feeling like. No, fuck that. That's absurd, and one of the most egotistical load of shit I've ever heard. It's sincere ignorance. What also gets me is how people look down upon serial killers, when a majority of the world's population is participating in a grotesque exploitation of life. Seriously, they've just taken it one step further. They stepped back and said, "hey, people are slaughtering pigs, cows, and chickens like it's nothing, so why not a human? Yeah, it can talk, and all, but it's still the same thing, but the brighter said about non-human organisms is that they don't talk a lot of stupid shit for being so 'super duper.'" Most everyone looks down on that, and why? Probably because they feel as though they share a connection because they have the same number of chromosones, or maybe they're just afraid that there's no way to refute it's credibility because they're doing the exact same thing. Seriously though, if a cow was to talk or communicate with us in a similar fashion we do other humans, you think someone would be able to look at him or her, explain why the person wants the cow to die with the cow providing it's own arguments or naive skepticism, and still be able to eat it? I wouldn't put my money on it, at least if that person was average Joe. Anyway, if "lower-intelligence" merits death, what do we as a race deserve with the lot of our transgressions?
Related-thoughts:
Purpose to life? To live, ass, but to live is selfish, as doing so in an unadulterated environment has a high probability of having a negative affect on another organism, even if accidental, unless one was fortunate enough to be in the "right place at the right time" for the course of their existence. Also, to contradict me in providence of some other purpose that ultimately falls under the "betterment of humanity" is a waste of time; there is no point for us to exist aside from the innate desire to continue the species, which is silly, because who really gives a shit that there are humans around after we die?
Edit: I thought a phrase I said earlier sounded nifty, so I tricked it out a bit; I kind of think it's the type of material that can be quoted and referenced, or at least it sounds like it:
"If being of a different species or intelligence, both at the mercy of nature and the course of evolution and not by choice, merit a sentence of death, then what are we as a race deserving for the transgressions humanity has made, and continue to make, in full awareness and at our own whim? Perhaps our very existence is the punishment, as man is more foul than any plague, more ravaging than any beast, more unforgiving than any storm, and fueled by his own arrogance and greed." - Hans Lieber.
