This Week in My Mouth

So, I've really owed you some This Week in My Mouth updates lately.  There's actually been a lot.  But kind of because of that I've been not making them.  What'reyagonnado.

Three weeks ago, I had an extra long orthodontist appointment.  They made really accurate molds of my uppers and lowers and then used this amazing metal contraption and a lot of other metal bits and some actual plaster and stuff to make a thing on which to mount my uppers and lowers which hinges exactly like my jaws do.  This went to the surgeon.

Two weeks ago, I had an appointment with the surgeon at which he took some further measurements of my bite and then sent me with one of his techs for a panoramic x-rays.

Earlier this week, I had an appointment with the surgeon at which he told me how things would go and what the surgery entailed exactly and some about recovery.  And I wrote a fairly large check.

Tomorrow morning, I have to be at Stanford Hospital at 06:30 to prepare for my 08:30 surgery.  I'll be in ICU afterwards and overnight.

This is it.

After this, and after the swelling abates, the surgeon says I'll look younger.  I'm getting facelift effects from them moving my jaws.

After this, the surgeon says I'll snore less and likely will no longer have even the mild sleep apnea I have.

After this, there will be another half a year of braces, maybe less since the surgery is happening a little later in the process than originally planned.

Um, I guess that is all.

doctor, teeth, snoring
