There's something Judith said to Naoto a while ago that's stuck with her-- I believe she described Naoto as "straight-forward". Naoto's never been experienced in personal relationships or understanding feelings, even though she's been making progress in recent years. So to her mind, Naoto-in-a-relationship wants to be able to provide something useful for Judith; in this case, she wants to be someone in Judith's life that doesn't come with messy complications. She genuinely cares for Judith deeply, probably to an extent that she doesn't yet understand. There is a part of her that yearns to explore their arrangement deeper, to touch upon things she's anxious about and wants to know more about, but realizes that if she tries to do that, it may end up complicating things on a level Judith doesn't want. So that part of her was being ignored until recently, until Naoto spoke to younger Judith, and understood that there was a history of pain and frustration in Judith's past that Naoto has no idea about. It made her realize that while it wouldn't be fair to try and get Judith to talk to Naoto about personal details like that, it isn't fair to deny her the opportunity to do so, either. Naoto doesn't have a how-to guide on romantic relationships to refer to, and even if she did she'd probably discard it on the basis that her relationship with Judith is not going to have a general outline. So a lot of her decisions are based on guesswork, which is one thing she's pretty good at, fortunately.

For her part, Judith makes Naoto have feelings she wasn't aware... even existed. Getting Naoto to admit to her desire for physical intimacy at the Crossdresser's Ball was a milestone; Naoto realized that she has a level of trust for Judith that is pretty unique to all her other interactions. Naoto is fairly certain, at this point, that she could be okay with her body around Judith. This is a Big Deal, because of all the things in Naoto's life that she has the most trouble with, body image is right there near the top. Anything to do with her body--touch, hygiene, looks, nudity--makes her uncomfortable to talk about or reference to anyone but herself. The fact that Judith is the exception to this rule means a lot to Naoto in terms of being more comfortable with herself and how she interacts with others. It's something she's grateful for, even if she doesn't quite know how to articulate it.

With that said, Naoto did come to the conclusion that it's very possible Judith means more to her than she means to Judith. She's suspected that there's a degree of inequality in their relationship, but doesn't know how to approach that topic or if she should. She's also not sure if it should be equal, given Naoto's own issues and Judith's desire for polyamory. But at the very least, she wants to give Judith the opportunity if she's also thinking along the same lines-- she knows they're currently on some casualish? level, but she's been pleased when they talk about deeper issues together, and assumes that the best way to go about it is to give her the option to go further, but not to push it.

sob okay

So like, the funny thing with Judith is, despite her constant jabs at Flynn and Yuri for being idiots when it comes to dealing with their emotions, she ... really isn't much better! Especially when it comes to talking about feelings. She's gotten pretty used to just being able to top/drape anybody into submission, and hasn't had to deal with relationship drama because of it! When it comes to forming full opinions/thoughts on the people important to her, she really just ... doesn't.

THAT BEING SAID Judith considers all her current relationships as being equal. No one is really more important than anyone else and the reason she LIKES polyamory in the first place is that it means she doesn't ... have to make anyone less important than anyone else! Her relationships are all different and special in their own ways, and she likes that! When it comes to Naoto she is aware that they're dating much more ... traditionally than she is with, say, Yuri, which is pretty new to her as she's never really engaged in romantic relationships before! So on one hand she's not sure how to go about things, exactly, and is happy to let Naoto lead on that front.

More specifically in the feelings department, Judith is pretty protective of Naoto. She tends to be this way with all of her girl friends, especially Rita and Estelle, because they are her precious babies and nothing bad should ever happen to them. This mostly comes from how rough she had it growing up as a girl on her own and just sort of ... does it. She is consciously a bit more intense with this when it comes to Naoto, mostly because of the discomfort she knows she has with her own body. This isn't something Judith understands herself, and is pretty much the exact opposite of how she developed, so she just tries to make sure Naoto never has to explain/put up with anything uncomfortable when it comes to it!

BUT YEAH this has been totally unintelligible but like. Judith likes Naoto a lot! She is smart and capable and very sweet, and Judith would do everything in her power to keep her safe! Feelings are complicated!!

WHAAAAAT impressions did Naoto get from bb!Judy?

Naoto definitely got the sense that Judith had a painful and difficult childhood, and her feelings of frustration completely took her over, in part because she had no outlet for her anger or a way to undo the injustices she was forced to experience. Naoto realizes she can't fully understand what that was like, but at the same time feels sympathy for Judith. As a child, her frustrations at being a young female in a position where her age and sex were used against her were not things she could easily change, and despite how she tried, there was never an easy way out. So, letting her frustrations define who she was is something Naoto's very familiar with.

She's a little miffed that, according to Judith, people have told her that to feel anger towards humans is wrong in response to Judith's bitterness. Certainly Naoto is aware that humans are a varied race, but telling a child whose home and family have been decimated by this group of people that her feelings are wrong is just not on. She would have liked to have had the opportunity to talk about it with Judith, but given the circumstances Naoto felt there was never going to be a good time.

Currently her blindness is beginning to recede, so she's wondering if Judith has re-aged yet, and if they can talk.

What would Judith think if Naoto wanted to accompany her back to her world next vacation?

(fyi she has reaged and they can totes talk)

OH GOD she'd be excited and then she'd realize that all she did last time was troll Karol and get super wasted on a beach before having nonstop threeway sex with only breaks for ice cream and more booze and maybe a shower but then more threeway sex in the shower um

so she'd think ... "I need to write up a day plan."

HOW IS SYNC DOIN'?

LOLZ it's okay judith-san we can just hang out i'm sure that will be fine, right

SYNC IS NEVER OKAY EVER pretty much. That is Sync's default state of being, and part of that is my... inability to play him enough, which I am hoping will change orz, and part of that is just his raging stubbornness. To him, the idea of finding something in Camp that could have an effect on him, something that could make him want to start over, is as good as admitting that everything he worked for, everything he died for, was a mistake. And Sync can't accept that, because then he would have to admit that Luke's not wrong for trying to help him and that it's his own fault for being so narrow-minded. Sync would just collapse if that happened, and losing control of himself and his being is something he promised himself he would never, ever do. It was primarily Sync's unrelenting will that saved his life after he was thrown into Mt. Zaleho, so he values it above all else.

Name two characters from each of your canons: one your characters want to see in Camp, and one they absolutely do not. Explain why.
