It was a fantastic feeling, being at the top of Mount Kinabalu. We did it in 2hrs 20 minutes from Laban Rata and reached the peak at 0530hrs.
Temperature was -2 degrees, freezing cold that at one point, I couldn't feel my fingers. We did a good job, Weichong was gung ho and wanted to be the first one at the top, followed by me and then Wengkin.
There were a large group of people whom we bypassed and were the second group at the peak after a pair of ang mohs.
The moment I got there, i whipped out my Sneakers bar and ate it, i was hungry okay.
We spent the rest of the time taking pictures and hogged the signage which said Lows Peak, I just sat there admiring the view, not bothered that the other groups who came up later wanted to take pictures of the signage as well, heck, I was tired and mesmerized by the view.
After 30 minutes, we made our way down but there was a thing inside me which gave me a bad feeling about something, but I couldn't make it out. So i ignored it and concentrated on the joyous moment.
We stopped by Laban Rata for a well deserved breakfast, before going back down to the start point and by the time we got back, our knees felt like jelly and were aching like hell.
It took us 2hrs to get down, again another fast timing but it came at a price, pain in our bodies.
The Hyatt Regency was where we spent our night, and for the next two days and we shopped a little at wisma Merdeka before heading back for a good nights rest. What a day.
