Films

This was, unsurprisingly, awesome. More awesome than an awesome thing.

I utterly loved it.

Michael Cera wasn't exactly how I imagined Scott, but he played it well enough.

Wallace was amazing and I loved how the number of people in Wallace and Scott's bed kept increasing *g*

Knives was amazing and I loved her. I preferred the resolution to the Knives/Scott relationship in the film than in the book. At the same time I preferred the depth they were able to give both Ramona and Envy in the book. Pretty hard to do in a film, I know.

I particularly missed the importance of Ramona changing her hair colour and what it meant when she finally let it grow out.

The Universal logo at the beginning was awesome and I watched it with a full crowd of geeks because nearly the entire cinema laughed at that. And everyone seemed to appreciate the 1UP life *g*

I will definitely be buying the DVD.

So...western films can't really help but be gay, can they?

Because, this? This was very gay.

Also very awesome.

Viggo Mortensen was brilliant as Hitch and I loved how he was always a presence wherever Cole was.

Although, and this is weird, I thought his moustache/beard worked when he was wearing the hat, but looked weird without the hat.

It is my personal theory that sooner or later (and sooner, I think) Virgil and Allison will will break up and Virgil will go off and find Hitch.Partly because, you know, I need that to happen.

I hadn't realised that Jeremy Irons was in this and thought he was wonderfully evil.

This was the film I watched this afternoon and I loved it. So funny. So well shot. Best shootout I think I've ever seen on film. And, uh, again, just a little gay.

Well, more than a little gay. Very, very gay.

This was all kinds of amazing. Bloody difficult to watch, especially at the beginning when you can see how the coach is conditioning Neil.

Michelle Trachenberg was brilliant as Wendy - although I did spend much of the film going 'Buffy would be so pissed if she saw her sister right now' - as tahariel can attest to.

Zeke was adorable.

And Neil describing what happened to him and Brian was heartbreaking.

Boat That Rocked - The music in this film is all kinds of awesome. Bill Nighy is brilliant. And I loved Philip Seymour Hoffman quite a lot.

Death Race - Yeah, this is mindless fun. Well, mindless, at any least.

Books

I really enjoyed this book. Although I have to admit that I don't find either of Margit's potential men that appealing. Tony is nice enough, but I don't see the attraction Margit has for Tony. That can be the problem with established relationships in books. Alban is hot, yeah, but other than that...

I do admit that I love both Janx and Daisani because they are both brilliantly sarcastic and I always like the sarcastic characters.

It was a good plot and I'm enjoying the second one.

OMG! Tanith!!! Fuck, fuck, fuck.

That totally killed me. Especially as Ghastly and her were this close to getting together. And that Tanith thought of Stephanie as her sister.

Creepiest bit was when Steph got her soul sealed and had her heart cut out. Really made me cringe.

So, Lord Vile is going to be the big bad in the next book, right? Or it's going to be shared between Lord Vile and Tanith.

So, Derek Landy has said that he's going to kill Tanith in every book. So could maybe killing her bring back the real Tanith and get rid of the remnant.

I can't wait for next September and the next book.

TV shows

Morgan and Chuck jet setting around the world looking for Chuck's mum was totally awesome. They were so good but also so bad at it.

And I loved the way they showed them going around the world like Indiana Jones but with the Nerd Herder instead of the aeroplane.

Casey being hurt that Chuck and Morgan hadn't included him and Sarah from the beginning was kind of adorable.

Also, mum was kickass awesome. Totally awesome. I love her already.

Ellie being pregnant is awesome, but also, oh dear.

Esposito and Ryan being all supportive of Beckett and giving Castle the evil eye was adorable. Especially as Beckett knew what they were doing and obviously really appreciated it. Probably the best was Captain Montgomery doing the same, too.

Ryan nearly shooting Castle was kind of hilarious.

And Castle turning up at every crime scene was great, too.

And once it was obvious Castle hadn't actually turned into an insane, crazy killer, it was obvious that the reason they ended up facing each other with a gun was because they were shooting a person behind the other.

And then Esposito wondering just how long Beckett had known it was about counterfeiting was love *g*

Yep, this is brilliant. This is the best show of the fall season. Without parallel. Unless it all goes to shit this evening, which, I'm doubting it will. All the TV critics say it just gets better. Which will be pretty impressive.

Steve Buscemi is amazing. I can't wait to see Michael K Williams in a couple of episodes time.

Undercovers - Considering this was a JJ Abrams show, this was really kind of disappointing. Cliched and really predictable. I hope it gets better, but I'm not hopeful.

Penny chaperoning Sheldon on his date was hilarious. And the way she managed to get him off the idea of having children was brilliant. If in doubt, invoke Sheldon's mum.

The sub plot with Howard getting a robot hand to jack him off...was less than brilliant. On the other hand (sorry), it did made me laugh with horror when Howard had that moment of realisation while having the massage. And it was funny when the nurse hit a button and it released his dick. But, yeah. Not brilliant.

No Ordinary Family - This was okay. It has potential, I'll give it that.

JJ just keeps getting more awesome and I'm so pissed that she's leaving next week. Bastards.

Morgan yelling at Garcia was horrible but I did love Garcia and Reid talking about how Morgan was doing.

Well, this wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. Horrible lawyer woman wasn't there, which was great.

I did love the idea of Tony being the one left to work with Gibbs for the last however long. That would have been great to have watched.

The Ziva/Tony stuff was thankfully none existent and I didn't cringe while they were on screen.

I'm not entirely convinced with the conclusion of the 'Gibbs shot that guy' storyline. Considering the build up last season, it was wrapped up very quickly and neatly.

And, uh, getting the guy to shot his sister...would that really be allowed?

Loved Gibbs being all protective of Abby *g*

I do hope that the rest of the season carries on like this.

All the slash is still here, which is good because they still don't have any plot.

I love Deeks and am so happy that he's back...and in the credits so hopefully he'll be around for ages.

I am slightly curious as to where Nate is, though.

I'm surprised that Division didn't do something like give Birkoff a full body x-ray when he came back from being interrogated by Nikita. I would have thought that would be standard procedure.

I am curious as to what Nikita is going to do now to keep suspicion away from Alex.

So, Alex is also going to fall for a Division guy, right?

I still love Michael. I did like that Michael was obviously quite relieved by Nikita's intervention.

And Michael going in to stop Alex being beaten up was lovely. I also liked the touch of him giving his gun to one of the other agents so he didn't shoot the guy.
