This centres more or less completely on True Blood and Merlin
Let's start with Merlin, since it doesn't make me anywhere near as rage filled at True Blood is managing right now.
Okay, so, for the most part, I really enjoyed this episode. It was SO much better than 201 and has made me excited about the rest of the season. It has even made me buy the first part of season two so I can catch up and understand wtf happened through season two. Although I am skipping 202. There is no amount of money that will make me watch that episode.
I loved the banter between Arthur and Merlin at the beginning. I wonder how much fanfic all that talk of bottoms inspired *g*
But here's my thing. Where the fuck is all the security in Camelot? Considering the fact that there are magical attacks on Camelot in general and Arthur and/or Uther every week, why was Uther allowed to wonder off by himself?
Also, how was Morgana getting into Uther's rooms so easily? Are there no guards on the doors to the King's room? Really?
Did you notice that as soon as Arthur is in charge their are suddenly guards all over the place? Okay, so one of them gets stabbed, but the fact remains there are guards.
Also, did Merlin and Gaius really leave the guard who someone had just tired to murder all alone in their rooms? Have they not learnt that if they do that, the person will be dead by the time they get back? Surely it would have been wise to either leave Merlin to protect the guy or get a couple of guards on the door?
And did Morgana really walk all the way back to the Castle with the Mandrake root dripping mud? Did she not wrap it or anything? If she had, she wouldn't have had to stab that guard.
I just. It strikes me as really, really stupid, is all.
I don't think there has been a time Sookie or Bill have been on screen that I haven't wanted to yell 'HOW STUPID ARE YOU??? OMFG!!! GO DIE IN A FUCKING FIRE' Or something to that effect *shrugs*
Actually, to be completely honest, I have been shouting that because if I didn't, my head would have exploded.
I have one episode of this season left to watch, so they may pull it all back and let it all make sense, but somehow I doubt it.
It was about the time when Sookie was screaming at Eric to rescue her when Russell caught her. She is begging him to rescue her from a vampire that has roughly 2000 years on him. that is a fight that he wouldn't survive. Hell, he wouldn't even get started because Russell would have him dead within a New York minute.
And then when Eric tells Bill his plan, and part of that plan involves Bill letting Russell taste some of Sookie's blood and she starts cussing him out.
WTF, girl? Can you honestly not this past the immediate future? Is it so difficult to think that someone might have a plan; they just aren't telling you?
Because, for an issues you might have with Sookie from the books, stupidity is not one of them. Naive, yes. Stupid, no. If Sookie in the books doesn't get why something is happening she tends to either stay quiet until she gets a degree of understanding or she tries to find out by talking to people. She doesn't yell at people in front of the bad guys, demanding to know what is happening and why immediately.
I mean, how fucking stupid do you have to be?
And then there was Tara during her and Sookie's great escape telling Sookie that they are leaving Bill. Surely if you want to get out of there quick, starting the argument of all arguments isn't a good idea. Would you just not go 'sure, whatever, we can sort this out between us when we aren't three seconds away from having our throats ripped out'?
And Sam is a mean drunk? Am I seriously supposed to buy that? Because I just found it hilarious. It's not that I don't believe it could happen, it's that they did it SO damn badly.
I did, though, feel SO sorry for Tommy. At least Terry, despite being hurt, knew it was the alcohol. Tommy just looked SO destroyed. I find him stealing Sam's safe in retaliation to be be hilarious. I hope they get their shit sorted out.
Pam crying as she watched Eric sacrifice his life to kill Russell was heartbreaking. I do love the moments between those two.
Eric has good, sneaky plans *g*
Terry is adorable.
The Hoyt/Jessica stuff took a bizarre turn, right? They are all wholesome and adorable and then Jessica gives him blood and then bites him. Kind of weird. I did find myself going 'awwww' when Hoyt offered his blood to Jessica.
I did actually like the time they spent having Bill teach Jessica vampire things. But then, after the fight with Russell's werewolves he goes upstairs and bones Sookie. Why the fuck did he not go after Jessica? Okay, so we know that she kicked that werewolf's arse, but Bill didn't.
And talking about Sookie and Bill getting it on right after the fight with the werewolves - that girl needs a backbone. You've just discovered that your boyfriend came back to Bon Temps with orders from the Vampire Queen of Louisiana to find you and secure you for the queen.
That is not cute. That is not sweet.
That's creepy and a total betrayal of trust.
While I approve of you dumping his ass, I do not approve of you running back to him. Good God, girl.
I bet you money that once I watch the final episode I will be ranting even more than I am now.
Oh, I did love Russell being amused that Eric killed Talbot because of 1000 year old abandonment issues *g*
