A little bit of everything
Okay, so I know everyone and their dog has heard about the plane landing in the Hudson in NYC. I just wanted to express my amazement at the level of skill needed to land a plane in a fast moving river. Seriously, I'm just...wow. As has already been said n my flist - I want that man to be flying the next plane I'm on.
Oh, and have people seen the new SG:90210 casting news? (well, newish, I suppose)

My personal favourite is the whole casting a black man as the angry, scary guy.
I don't often see much racial stuff in my TV shows - I can be a bit oblivious.
But really, SG:90210 (along with SG-1 and SGA) is is carrying on these PTB trend of casting black people as either the muscle or the aliens - or muscle-bound aliens. I just...can't they see this themselves.
Oh, and then they perpectuate other sterotypes
Slightly overweight = geek
Non US - Manipulator
So, one of the women is going to be blonde with good breasts, right?
I'm really not even at all slightly curious about SG:90210.
I want to hear how it is - read reviews and all that, but I have no desire to actually watch it myself.
I'm writing my reel_merlin and it's terrifying me. It's going to be at least 20k and I've got to have it written by the 22nd Feburary. The problem is, I can see what has got to happen - I have every scene in my head, but getting them from my head into paper is proving bloody difficult. The words just aren't working. Why aren't they sodding working? *stamps foot*
On a completely differnt note, I watched episode 211 of The Big Bang Theory
OMG - It's Anders from BSG. Yes, he was a bastard, but a damn hot one. I loved how Penny laughed when he said he was a physicist *G*
But - and far more important - Sheldon hugged Penny. SHELDON. HUGGED. PENNY. Words can't describe how adorable that was.
I also watched this weeks episodes of NCIS, CSI:NY, Criminal Minds and Supernatural.
NCIS
Ducky-centric episode. I thought it rocked. Poor Ducky beating himself up about it for years. And what a sadistic bastard that guy was.
I loved how Gibbs refused to let Ducky go without a fight.
And Ducky - he's been getting it on with Jordan? I loved Gibbs's reaction to seeing Jordan *g*
(On a slighty more disturbing note - increasingly these days I'm seeing a Tony-Gibbs father/son relationship with more Gibbs/Ducky and Tony/McGee)
CSI:NY
Poor Danny having Lindsay and Sid both throw lists of coinsidences at him *g*
But how did a Hawkes-centric episode manage to not really be about Sheldon? It was more about his ex-girlfriend in a way.
Loved the interaction between Hawkes and Mac.
Criminal MInds
I really liked how we started on the arrest and focused on the interregation and finding the partner.
I can't even begin to imagine how horrific it must feel to find out your husband and father is a rapist/murderer. I thought both of actresses did really well as the wife and daughter, put particularly the daughter.
I was loving the interregation until Morgan did that 'dad where are you?' speech. That kind of sucked. If he's stopped on the sentence before that, it would have worked a lot better.
Rossi re Reid: 'He was left on the steps of the FBI' ROTFL
And Morgan asking Reid if he was sure and the look Reid gave him was hilarious.
So, in my mind, Morgan's 'I don't know what it's like to love a man' had just an edge of sarcasm *g*
Supernatural
Wow - creepy. Very fucking creepy.
I did love the two twists - a) They are human b) it's twins
I loved Dean's 'humans, man' in that digusted tone.
I also loved Dean still being in denial and focusing on saving as many people as possible so he doesn't have to think about Hell.
And Sam not knowing how to deal with Dean being the broken one who needs support. Dean has never accepted help or wanted to talk before and I don't think Sam wuite knows what to so now that he is.
Dean has always been the strong one, keeping it together. Sam could always rely on him to keep them going.
I really want more Castiel.
