I haven't watched any of this week's televsion, and I finally managed to get started last night.
I really kind of loved this episode.
Fornell. I love Forenell so much. Gibbs and Forenell butting heads is always so much fun.
The bit where autopsy gremlin asked McGee if he wanted to 'cut or catch?' was funny in a 'eww' kind of way. Like McGee, I would have gone with cut.
How much did I love it that Tony was the one who got the literay reference and it was Probie and Ziva with the 'huh?' expressions.
I found Tony and Ziva sniping back and forth about Ziva's trip to Israel really kind of cute. I really like where those two are at the moment. I'm not sure how I'd react if it went any further, or if they actually get in relationship of some sort, but I don't hate this Tony/Ziva thing they've got going.
I'm also loving where they have the team at at the moment. The contectivity between Tony, McGee and Ziva is brilliant and really quite wonderful. There is such a feel of family about them and they all know each other so well.
The bit where Gibbs and Fornell walk into the elevator and the door close behind them, leaving the team at the office was so funny. Tony being all 'I think we should stay here' and Probie being all 'I was thinking just that' and Ziva being all 'me too' - so damn funny.
Abby going on about the mold was so very cute and so very hilarious. Especially when she was giving Gibbs a lesson and suddenly realises that he's really not as into it as she is.
And Tony trying to get a word in edgeways while she's talking about the mold, was also funny. What I really lilked though was how he did Gibbs's disappearing thing.
You know, usually, when Tony gives Gibbs the stats of a pretty woman instead of the vic, I get annoyed. This time I found it funny. I think because they haven't done that for a long time.
Is it weird that I'm kind of missing Vance?
And when are we going to see Lee again, considering she's a spy? And will we see the other guy too? The not-quite-McGee one.
I really kind of loved this. I thought it was a very interesting look at responsibility and consequences.
Both Sinclair and Sheldon's "friend" reacted to news of the flashdrive being missing and things backfired for them. Sinclair lost his wife (and I'm going to be nice, and believe him that the allegations were false), but he also had the ability to realise that her finding out about the payoff was only part of the problem; she'd been unhappy for a while and this gave her the out she was looking for. That kind of insight made me like Sinclair more than usual.
I get the feeling these budget cuts are going to be felt in later episodes. That comment by Sinclair had the feel of foreshaowing to me.
I adored Adam in this episode. From his adorable crush on Stella (but then, who doesn't have a crush on Stella?) to him solving a huge clue to him coming and visiting the doll.
Out of all the reactions to the dolls, I think Flack's was my favourite.
I can't believe that Flack thought that it was a good idea to describe to Lindsay how a doll could be better that a woman when wheeling one down the sidewalk. Surely he knew that it was a recipe for disaster. But her reaction was classic. I can't wait to see how Flack gets her back.
Also, because of no contact with Danny, I liked Lindsay this episode.
Danny and Flack with the warrant to search the guys apartment was hilarious. They are a brilliant double act.
Flack: 'Where's your girlfriend'
Guy: 'I don't -'
Danny: 'The rubber one.'
Flack (sounding disaproving): 'Danny. Not rubber. Silicone.'
Danny (not sounding contrite): 'Sorry. Silicone girlfriend.'
(paraphrased, but you get the idea)
But possibly the best line comes from Danny as he's leading the suspect out of his apartment
'This is why guys shouldn't play with dolls.'
Sheldon was stunning in this episode. He is a good man. A moral man. And I love him. Plus, he got a bit busted up, but he did fend off 3 guys. And he got hair. Go Hawkes.
I'm thinking that corruption might play a bit of a role in this season. Because if that flashdrive doesn't make a re-appearance, I'll eat my shoes.
Please tell me that someone had the gift of foresight and thought to make a copy of that flashdrive. Please. Pretty please. Because I know I would have. Because, really, who didn't think that it would be gone from the evidence box before the end of the episode?
And who did that hand belong to? Was it just a generic hand, one that doesn't matter, or will it be an important plot piece?
Criminal Minds, Chuck, Supernatural and Merlin hopefully to follow. Not to mention everything else.
