(no subject)
Baby update: It's definitely a boy. Name will probably be Thor (don't laugh, the father is Norwegian). I had said that if it was a girl I would name her Lena but if it was a boy I gave the boyfriend freedom to name him. My only restrictions were to use a name that I can pronounce and that doesn't sound ridiculous in Greek. His first choice was Odin but I shot it down cause it sounds pretty girly in Greek. Second choice was Thor. I definitely don't mind it but will not agree to it if the baby looks super Greek. I have very dark hair, dark eyes and olive skin. If he takes completely after me he will be teased mercilessly with that name.
My brother finally got back from the ship. He was away for a full year. I don't blame him with the way his finances were going. He helped out some friends who were struggling with the financial crisis and I doubt he will ever see that money again. I got very cross with him and yelled that he had to stop playing Santa Claus and that he was not personally responsible for rescuing every single victim of this crisis to his own detriment.
He is now visiting our grandparents (mother's side). My grandmother was suffering from Altzheimers and apparently it's gotten worse, all she does is sit and look at the ceiling. When I visited last years she still had a few moments of clarity. And our 93 year old grandfather has apparently developed a drinking problem. His afternoon shot of raki has grown to full blown drinking all day. His wife's state has hit him hard. They are keeping her at home, he won't even hear of taking her somewhere for specialised care. They have a really good live-in lady who is taking good care of them.
