Chapter 13: Make up, Break up
When the morning came I opened my eyes with the dawn. I turned over and saw lying next to me, my lover, sprawled on the bed in delectable way, sheets strewn carelessly across his naked form. I stretched a little and crawled across the large bed toward him. I placed my lips on his and he sleepily opened his eyes and kissed me gently back.
“What time is it?” He asked.
I shrugged. “It is early.” He nodded and let his head fall back against the pillows again. I smiled at him and gave him another kiss before I bounded out of bed. I went into the bathroom and turned the shower on to hot before I stepped in under the running water. I turned to face the stream of water and ran my hands through my hair to make sure it was thoroughly wet. I opened my mouth and let the water stream in to rinse out the taste of sleep and just revelled in the feeling of the warmth cascading over my now-slick body.
A new sensation overcame me just now, I opened my eyes and turned around to see my love standing there sharing my water. He smiled at me and let his eyes trace the contours of my body. He let his gaze rest so long on my lower regions that I began to grow red. He placed his hands on my waist and kissed my lips gently. He slid his tongue into my mouth, pushing it first against my teeth to gain access.
When I opened my mouth to him, his tongue thrust inside and began to explore the cavern of my mouth with vigour. I felt myself getting hotter under the streaming water simply by feeling the urgency in his kiss. His hands snaked from my hips to my chest and touched my nipples, tweaking them and rolling the hard buds between his fingers. My breathing grew laboured and I felt myself leaning into his touch. Haldir’s fingers of his right hand worked on my nipple and the other hand slid around to grip my backside to pull me closer to him.
The heat this produced fled directly to my groin and I felt myself growing hard and pressing into his leg. He was, however, still soft. Whether he was controlling himself to some degree or if he was only doing this for me and was not interested in this at all. His lips pulled back from mine and trailed little kisses down my cheek and my neck. He slid his tongue up the side of my neck to bring it in contact with my ear. I shivered under his ministrations and pushed myself closer to him.
When his teeth came down on my ear I gave a little cry and felt my organ twitch again. The hand on my buttocks moved, sliding on my wet skin, around to the front of me and brushed my desire. I whimpered and he wrapped his long fingers around it slackly. His lips sealed around my ear and he began sucking on it, massaging it with his tongue and teasing it with his teeth. His hand started to move up and down my hard length without rhythm. I wanted to force rhythm into it and I fell forward onto my lover, bracing myself with my hands on his chest.
Haldir’s motions did not stop. In fact he picked up the pace. I moaned loudly inadvertently and heatedly moved my lips on Haldir’s skin, kissing him and licking his flesh. I wanted more than this however. I wanted to feel his tongue on my hard desire, I wanted his mouth wrapped around me, I wanted to feel the heat of it.
I reached out to take him into my hand. I wanted to urge him in some way to do more. I began to play with his soft organ until I felt it beginning to harden. Haldir tried to reach my hand and tell me to stop, but I would not let him. I used my other hand to reach under him and take the loose sack of skin between his legs into my hand. I began to massage the round balls in there and continued to stroke his growing arousal.
Haldir’s hand, however, did not stop, nor did it slow. He was going to bring me to climax with it and it alone. I gasped and I reached out to pull him closer with the hand that was on his balls, but he groaned in protest when the warmth of my fingers left his hot skin. I was finally getting to im, which made me smile.
However, my glee was short-lived as Haldir, perhaps to get me back for pulling away, bit down on my ear enough to make my knees buckle. I almost fell, but he held me up somehow. Though now my arousal was more prominent and achingly hard.
Haldir gently removed his hand from my more sensitive areas and gently kissed my lips. His demeanour totally changed from the dominant and possessive person he had been moments before.
Gently he brushed back my hair and kissed my lips. His fingertips rested lightly on my face. I thought I was getting used to his mood changes during lovemaking, but clearly that was not so. It caught me off guard when he poured shampoo into his hand and started to massage it through my hair. I was still achingly aroused and when his hand brushed my ear I gasped.
Finally he pushed me back under the streaming water to let the soap rinse out of my hair. He took a bar or soap and started to let it glide silkily, with gentle directions from his hand to guide it, over my body. He let his fingers trail behind it over my heated flesh. He let his fingertips stroke my hard nipples as he worked the soap down my body. Finally the bar reached my throbbing desire and he slid it up the length and worked the soap into a lather with his hands.
He continued to do that when he grasped my hand and slid the bar into it. I heard him moan and he pressed against me lifting his leg a little and suddenly it occurred to me what exactly he wanted me to do.
I slid the bar of soap along his leg and then against his growing erection. Finally I let the bar slide between his legs and I probed with my slick fingers against his entrance and with his push of encouragement against them, I knew that he was ready and what he wanted and gently pushed one past the ring of muscle into his velvety warmth.
Haldir groaned and pushed down against the intrusion and I obliged by thrusting my finger inside him. As my digit came in contact with the raised spot inside him, he moaned loudly, mouth open, and pushed down and leaned harder onto my body.
I brought my finger out and replaced it again with another, so two were inside him. He was writing against me. He dropped his head and placed his lips against my neck. He was not succeeding in sucking on my skin as my fingers worked inside him, stretching and scissoring. His breath was ragged and he was moaning with every exhalation.
“Please,” I heard as a whisper in my ear. My hardness twitched at the sound and my mouth dropped open for greater ease in breathing. I nodded and withdrew my fingers. I led him to the wall of the shower and moved one of his legs so it wrapped around me. I positioned myself at his entrance and pushed gently until I had sheathed myself inside him.
Haldir was panting, his mouth open and his eyes closed. It was the most beautiful sight I had ever seen. I did not stop to gaze at him, though. I pulled out again and pushed myself back in very slowly. I pressed my body against his and licked his ear as I withdrew and entered him again.
He was leaking against my stomach and the slow speed I’d chosen was making him whine and beg me for more.
I increased my speed until Haldir was crying out rather loudly. I grasped his hardness with my hand when I started to feel myself tense for the inevitable. I grasped his length and he began to move more forcefully with my rhythm, his breath shallow and his groans loud.
I felt his body tense and the next thing I knew he was spilling myself on my stomach and I was brought over the edge by the grip he had on me.
We stood there until we caught our breaths again and then rinsed ourselves off in the still streaming water.

We put on yesterday’s clothes and left the nice room. I told Haldir to go downstairs and wait for me in the lobby and we would go for breakfast. I went to Timmy’s room and knocked on the door.
I was lead into a sitting room where I was to wait for my boss. I wandered around the room, picking up things and examining them. I picked up a nice statue of something that was sitting on a table and ‘accidentally’ dropped it so it would hit my shoe and roll under the table. I reached under the table to get it and pressed something to the leg of the table with my other hand. A bug.
When I stood up with the statue in hand, I moved it back to the table when I saw Timmy standing at the door.
“Oh! It’s a wonder you don’t do your own sniper jobs; you’re certainly quiet enough.” He smiled without emotion. “I just wanted to apologize for screwing shit up, and I wanted to thank you for giving me the opportunity to make things right with him. You didn’t have to but you did….” He did not respond, so I fumbled for more words. “We are most likely going to get out of town now for a few days. I think I have sufficiently convinced him to take some time off with me. Hopefully we should be out of here for at least a couple of days.”
Timmy finally smiled. “Great, Jack. That’s all good news. But I have something I need you to do.” This was news to me. “Two days from now, at ten pm, I am going to need you at this address. There will only be one person there and I need you to do the job.”
I probably looked puzzled, but honestly, I was. “But what about-?”
“Mr. Warden still needs to be taken care of. But this is imperative for everything to run smoothly. You can just bring a regular pistol.” He pushed the card into my hand and handed me a suitcase that I knew had the gun and all the details.
“I’ll be there.” I said seriously.
We said our goodbyes and I left the room and carried my suitcase down to the lobby where my heart was waiting.

“You planted it, right?” Haldir asked me as we walked out of the building with purpose.
I nodded. “The bastard almost caught me.”
“What’s in the suitcase?” He asked as we got in the car. He reached for his seatbelt.
“New job.” I stated. Haldir stopped where he was, seatbelt halfway across his chest. He said nothing. “Something wrong?” I asked.
“Are you going to do it?” He asked turning to face me.
“I don’t know; it’s on the night of his big plan. I probably won’t have time to go to both.”
“You talk about it like it is a god damn party, not a murder!” He whispered looking down. I didn’t know what to say. “If it was not on the same night, would you do it?”
I swallowed knowing the answer that I would give truthfully was not the one he wanted to hear.
“Legolas, oh the Valar help you,” he shook his head.
I spoke softly. “It has become a part of my life, Haldir. I am used to it-”
“You are so used to it that even now, even when you know that it is very likely the end of the world, you still contemplate it without remorse. Do you not realize that you are helping him murder innocent people for evil intent? What is wrong with you?” He was so ashamed of me that I could feel his sadness in my own heart.
I swallowed and let go of my seatbelt. It retracted into the limo’s seat. “Clearly quite a bit.”
“Do you not regret your actions? Does it not make you sick to know you kill people, end their lives, for money? Does it not bother you at all? He paused but I said nothing. “Gods, have you no conscience? What-”
“-is wrong with me? I got trapped in an alien world with no one and nothing and I learned to make use of my only skills to survive. I had no one and nothing. Life and death was the only control I possessed. My life meant their death. I realize I am fucked up, but I had no choice!”
“There is always a choice!”
“Not for me!” I screamed. He went silent. “If I had a choice I would not be here, and if I had had the guts, I would be dead. I am a coward for not submitting to death, but it was either them or me.”
The limp stopped at a light and I opened the door and stepped out. Haldir called after me and I slammed the door in his face. He moved to open the door but the light changed and the car sped away.

It was six and I was in a new hotel room at a new hotel. I was sitting in the bathroom with bleach on my hair. It was strange how much faster an elf’s hair grew compared to a human’s. It had been rather short when I cut it, but it was already shaggy enough to cover the tips of my pointed ears. My roots were showing pretty badly this morning, but luckily the bleach would fix it. I figured, if I was going to die in the next few days along with the rest of the world, it was probably a good idea to at least do it feeling like the old me.
I sat for a little while longer before applying the blonde hair dye to the bleached hair. I felt a little strange to have my hair so short and blonde again. I tried to ignore the nostalgic feeling that overcame me as I looked at my appearance in the mirror. I missed my home and there was a good chance, if we did not end up stopping Melkor, that I would not see it again.
I went back out into the bedroom to listen to the equipment that picked up the signal of the bug I placed in Melkor’s room. There was silence now, and I knew it would be a long night.
* * *
Haldir paced the room in his hotel. He knew the man was right down the hall, but any attempt at approaching him could lead to a disaster. He wanted to get this job done, but how was he going to do that without Legolas.
Haldir poured himself a drink and sat down in his chair staring out the window at the town below. Surely Melkor knew that they had fought again, whether he knew what about or that it was serious this time was debatable.
Haldir just could not get it past the barrier in his mind that his lover, his love, was a killer. He was a pure murderer. What would that do to an elf? How much would it have taken for Legolas to finally resort to killing the people he would have always been willing to save? He realized that he did not know anything about Legolas’ life here. He had known nothing, he had not been familiar with this world and he had been forced to make due for fifty years. He had nothing to live for and no one to love or who understood him. It must have been a very lonely life. Then, here Haldir was scolding him for the way he chose to survive.
Haldir shook his head as he finished his drink and poured himself another. He worried about his lover. He went back to the hotel he had been staying in only to find that he was not there. All his things were gone. Haldir knew that Legolas knew he would look for him. He had really not wanted to start the fight, but he had assumed that Legolas would not want to continue working for Timmy once they were together and everything was worked out. He had been sourly wrong, it seemed. Legolas was so used to his lifestyle that it had not occurred to him. Haldir was angry because he thought that Legolas would be eager to quit. It appeared that was not so.
So he had flown off the handle at Legolas and that was the wrong thing to do. When Legolas took off Haldir called for the driver to take them to his hotel and yet by the time he had gotten there, Legolas had already relocated. He had had all of the stuff at his hotel, so he must have moved all the equipment too, so Haldir didn’t even know what was going on with Melkor and his plans. All he could do was sit and wait.

I listened intently to the voices on the other side of the wire through the static of bad reception. I heard Melkor talking to someone either on the phone or in person who was not responding. Or perhaps he was talking to himself.
“Yea, two days. I need it there. Let me put it to you this way, if that stuff is not there in before 9 in two days, I am going to personally hunt you down and torture you for the next fifty years.” There was a long pause and then I heard it, finally. “You need the address again! Bloody insolent bastard. Listen hard this time!”
I scrawled it down onto a sheet of paper and took the head set off. I picked up the phone and dialled the number.

Haldir answered the ringing phone, feeling a little more than trashed as useless as he was. He knew that to keep Melkor from thinking that he was still meddling, he had to stay out of sight, and that meant that he had nothing interesting to do. So he spent some quality time with his scotch.
“Hello?” He asked, seeming to see double.
“301 Ellis Drive at ten o’clock. Tomorrow.”
“Legolas?” Haldir swallowed, feeling tears come to his eyes. “I’m sorry for what I said before.” Haldir stopped before he said anything else upon hearing the phone click and waited until the dial tone rang in his ears. He wiped the tears from his eyes before they could fall and he put the phone back in its cradle to pour himself another drink.
