Inspired by
this post and my conversation with sweet
Amy.
“You look beautiful, Donna!”
The ginger examines herself in the large mirror and smiles brightly. Her hair is perfectly curled, falling over her shoulders making her look like a princess. Her royal blue dress is a wonderful colour on her skin and while the corset is not the most comfortable thing to wear, it does help to give her body the perfect hourglass figure people dream of.
“Yeah, I do look nice,” she giggles. “You look beautiful too, Snow.”
“Thank you,” the princess beams at her, giving her a twirl in her sweet lilac dress. “I think you need earrings. I have the perfect ones.”
Snow freaking White. Princess of the Enchanted Forest is picking out earrings for Donna Noble. A temp of Chiswick has a princess from the fairytale land as her personal stylist. How cool is that, Donna thinks. She must remember to thank the TARDIS for taking them here. She almost wanted to kick the old girl when she opened the door and see that she has landed them in a huge forest in the middle of another unknown planet. Of course, the TARDIS knows what she’s doing. They didn’t have to wander very far when two people whom have revealed themselves as the prince and princess of this lovely land they have found themselves in spotted them. The Doctor spins a story about how they are the Lord and Lady of a far away land that was lost in war and they’re now travelling the world but seem to have made a wrong turn a while back.
The prince and princess very kindly invited them back to their castle, giving them a private tour of their home and even throwing a ball in their honour. Although, Donna has to admit that seeing Prince Charming’s face was a little spooky. He looks just like that node in the Library, or rather that node has his face. Either way, it was was so very creepy that the Library seem to know that Donna has a thing for princes with blue eyes and a charming smile. Too bad he’s already taken.
“Found them!”
“Oh,” she gasps, looking at the jewels in her hands, “They are magnificent. I can’t wear them. What if I lose them?”
“You won’t,” the brunette assures her gently. “They are perfect for the gown and they bring out your eyes. You have such beautiful eyes.”
“You’re so sweet. Can I keep you?”
“Sorry,” Snow says mischievously, “I belong to Charming. But you have someone in your life too.”
“Who? Oh, you mean the Doc - John. Lord John. We’re not…” she shakes her head, her fiery hair shining under the evening sun. “We’re not a couple. We’re just friends who travel the world together.”
“Friends who hold hands a lot?”
“We don’t hold hands a lot.”
“Sure,” she smirks. “You were holding hands when we found you.”
“Well, I was scared and lost, I was holding his hand for comfort. That’s all.”
“You do look pretty comfortable,” the princess winks. “What about when we were giving you a tour of the castle? You’re not scared or lost then.”
“Oh,” she blushes. “He has a tendency to run off on his own. I was making sure he doesn’t run off and get lost in your home.”
“Of course. And this afternoon, by the lake? He’s not running and you’re pretty happy, you’re still holding hands.”
“You are very observant, Princess,” Donna narrows her eyes at the brunette, “and very gossipy.”
“I’m a princess but I’m a girl first,” she says with a smug smile. “I like all the things girls like, and that includes talking about cute boys. Your Lord is pretty cute.”
“He’s not mine,” the ginger informs weakly but shrugs. “He can be pretty charming when he’s not getting us in trouble.”
A knock on their door cuts their conversation short. The ladies share a knowing look when the door swings open and their boys stares at them with their jaws to the ground. “You look beautiful, Snow,” Charming says, kissing her cheek before turning to Donna and he kisses her hand. “So do you, Lady Donna.”
“Thank you but just pay attention to your princess,” she teases, “I know you’re dying to see her.”
“Ready?” Charming holds out an arm for Snow which she takes it without question, leading their new friends to the ballroom.
“You look beautiful, Donna,” the Doctor whispers and Donna catches Snow casting her a knowing glance.
“Thank you, Spaceman,” she returns in hushed tones. “I could do without the corset though. You look nice too. How are the leather pants working out for you?”
“They’re oddly comfortable but a little tight.”
“At least you’re in something other than your suit. We really need to get you new clothes.”
“What’s wrong with my suit?” he asked, as if she has offended him.
“Nothing. You’re just wearing them all the time. You don’t change.”
“I change!”
“Going from a blue suit to a brown one is not change. You know what, I’m not talking about this now. I’m in a castle with Snow White and Prince Charming, and we’re attending a ball held in my honour. I’m not talking about your suits.”
“You started it.” Donna glowers at him and he returns with one of his best smiles. “Have I told you you look so beautiful today? I like the earrings. They bring out your eyes.”
“You’re off the hook for now, Spaceman.”
