You obviously are not very proud of your Judaism because Jewish people are some of the most liberal people I know. I have never met a Republican Jew. Learn about your religion and you will find that most Jews believe in social justice and the HELPING of others. As a people who have been subjected to horrible gov'ts across the globe, you should know the best policy a gov't should show toward others is one of respect and dignity (IE social programs, Public education, FREEDOM and the like).
The most important thing in this election is THIS nation and the way it will be shaped by whoever our next president is.
People care about this election because of its connotations for our future. I want a job, a house and life once I graduate and im sure you also want the same things. We, unlike our parents, are not starting out at the top of our game. I will take hard work for us to reach that level. Hard work and probably a little luck. I, quite frankly, do not care how much John Kerry makes, what his personal views are or if he likes to eat shrimp on tuesdays. That is not what this election is about. What I care about is, will John Kerry support me in the things I want to do. Can I live in a country where my decisions about my health are between me and a doctor? Or where I can eventually send my child to public schools? or where I can love and have a union with whoever I please? OR NOT... the thing is that under John Kerry we can have a CHOICE. GWB is trying to take that away! Please see that. Please at least consider what im saying. Its not about you anymore. its about america. its about what is right for america.
John Kerry is not a saint but there is a clear choice to be made. Consider your future and the future of your fellow Americans.
This is the most important election we will most likely ever see. That is why people have passion over it.
Choice- its whats for dinner!

Its not about me? i thought that is who it is about. choices for you and me.
you are contradicting yourself. if this is to affect our future we are precisely who this election is about.
first off....who are you to tell me about my people? if you followed the demographics of this election you will find that hordes of jews are turning to republican because they understand that supporting kerry is supporting palestine. period. just leave it at that...you obviously know nothing about the current state of religion and politics for this election.
another note, i agree with social justice and believe everyone is owed an equal amount of respect across the board, but everyone knows that a jack of all trades is a master of none. if kerry wants to have his hand in everything, education health care everything the state should deal with then everything will diminish in quality. healthcare professions will be considered like social service and you will not have doctors who go to 10 years of medical school helping you you will have nurses. now i could go on for hours about this but its not my point. my point is kerry can not do everything he says. he cannot snap his fingers and send this country back 10 years to when it was "better".
your choices will not be affected. gay marriage iwll never be illegal neither will the overturning of roe vs. wade. these issues are not at the top of anyones agenda. there are much bigger issues and i am not convinced by anyones plan. this is a very important election i agree but neither candidate is really equipped to handle whats ahead.
kerry is openly against gay marriage, but he puts on the facade of passing the issue off and handing it to the state legislature. you think his catholic background allows him to be for abortion as well? no he is very much against abortion but again, he takes the stand of good liberal and makes it an issue he will not touch.
this argument is exactly what i try to avoid and whoever you are...i really wish i knew...i hope you understand that i am not pro bush, nor pro kerry, i am really just scared and worried about our future....and thats all. leave me alone. you have made your point, and i have made mine i hope. i am impressed with your audacity and zeal, but your vigor falls on deaf ears at this point and i am really sad that it comes down to that for me. my faith in my country lessen each day, and my faith in my peers is almost obsolete. thank you, maybe we can have coffee and talk about this some more, but i do not appreciate being berated after making a post about avoiding political judgment and criticism.

Point taken and sorry.
I just get really angry when people are not jazzed about the election because I think it's very important.
The reason there hasn't been such a push to over turn R v. W and illegalize (word?) gay marriage is so he could still have a base to run for reelection. He has a lot of really scary things on his desk right now and i dont trust any president who has control of both the House and Senate AND the possibility to swing the supreme court.
It's just a scary thought anyway you look at it.
There is no perfect man for the job. Now, if we could get a woman in there...
but, ok- thank you for staying with me.
Happy trails to you.
