Repairzz

I have made some good progress on the engine repairs!
I got home last night late from work. I had a quick snack and talked myself into working on my truck because if I don't fix it, no one will. Besides , if it starts raining soon, I'll have even less desire to work on it.
So I got the timing chain cover off and removed the offending gasket. I took some pics of it, I should try and get them posted soon. It was all I intended to do at 8pm last night when I started, but I said to heck with it and pressed forward with reassembly.
I cleaned all the parts up, installed a new shaft seal in the timing chain cover. I put in the new gasket for the timing chain cover and sealed it up good with gasket sealant. I was going to stop there, but hey, my hands were already dirty, might as well keep going. So I put the main equipment brakcet bak on, remounted the A/C compressor and bolted the alternator back on. My flashlight's batteries were starting to die, so I replaced them and went back to it. I preped and intstalled the water pump and sealed it and its hose connections. I made sure to properly torque all the bolts with my shiney new torque wrench. I don't want to improperly tighten a bolt and either have a leek or break a bolt. I put the bottom of the air cleaner back on and stood back for a second to look everything over and make sure i hadn't missed anything to this point. I was good, so I decided I had enough of playing in the dark and called it a night. I didn't see a clock the entire time and when I came inside I saw it was 11:50. I was so busy, and enjoying myself a bit, I didn't realize how fast time went. I cleaned up and went to bed.
All I am waiting for now is a special tool to reinstall the Harmonic Balancer, $110, which will arrive Wed. of next week. :( Until then I am "borrowing" my work van to get back and forth to work. So close, yet so far. ::sigh::
