why are the girls at my school such cunts?  seriously, i used to be intimidated by these people.  what the hell!?  yes someone died, no his death does not amount to the same as the millions of people dying from aids, doesn't mean you should ridicule someone when they're mourning.  and yeah people feel a connection to him because he portrayed

The moment I walked through the door after coming back from visiting a teacher at my old high school, Dad turned his laptop around and showed me the news article about his death. I just kinda stood there with my mouth hanging open for a minute because I was absolutely speechless. I was totally shocked. I was sad, too, because I like what I've seen of his work, and I've been looking forward to The Dark Knight specifically because of what I saw of his performance in the trailer.

I guess his impact on the world was of little political import (I mean, he didn't solve world hunger, he didn't bring peace between warring countries, etc.), but that doesn't mean the mourning of the people upset about his death is inherently petty. His death is a death, and the people who liked him either as an actor or as a person are consequently sad. So who the fuck is insensitive enough to make fun of someone for mourning Heath Ledger? :(
