she's the one makin' it!'>*Michael*
Leaning against the trunk of the tree across the street, he sighed tiredly as he watched the house. Good gods, the mother really was overprotective. She hadn't left the house all day. Just when he was beginning to give up hope of doing this easily without dealing with Seamus' mother, a woman and man came out of the house. Holding his breath, he grinned widely when they closed the door and locked it behind them and headed towards the car to drive away. Finally! Waiting a few minutes, he crossed the street and went up to the door and rang the doorbell.
*Seamus*
Groaning from his bed upstairs at the sound of the doorbell, he reluctantly swung his feet out and padded down the stairs to the front door, figuring his folks must have left their housekey behind - again - and he'd have to go let them in. They'd gone off to dinner at Gram's - Da's Mam's house - like every Friday, but he'd caught some kind of a bug (mostly the "I can't eat another one of her puddings, really" bug) and was staying in.
He opened the door without checking the peephole first.
"What'd ye firgit?"
*Michael*
He blinked a bit in surprise before smirking and moving to lean against the doorframe.
"Do ya always answer the door like that or am I just lucky?"
*Seamus*
He immediately covered his naked torso with his arms and glared at Michael. His pyjama bottoms were riding low on his hips.
He recognised him from somewhere... Hogwarts? That had to be it...
His eyes flicked over the subtle but identifiable Auror's jacket.
"Jus' lucky. Now what are ye doin' here? And who are ye?"
*Michael*
He laughed as he held his hand out.
"Michael Dios. I was in Gryffindor a year ahead of ya. Fought in a few of the battles last year. Ya know, a lot of people are worried 'bout ya, not coming back to school and all."
*Seamus*
He slowly offered his hand out to Michael, other arm still trying to cover his chest.
"Aye, I remember ye," he commented, shaking Michael's hand quickly but firmly.
"Me mam's a right pain," he said conspiratorially. "So overprotective that she's practically checkin' me food b'fore I eat it, even though she's the one makin' it!"
He glanced up and down the street.
"I'm not s'posed ta let anyone in, especially when they're out, but... I don't care. You're not goin' ta hex me, are ye? Didn't think so, now come in before ye let all the heat out."
*Michael*
He shook his head as he stepped into the house.
"I'm not gonna hex ya."
That is, as long as you cooperate...
"Of course, if you're parents are so against ya letting people in, we could just go out some place. I'm sure you'd love to fly the coop for a bit."
*Seamus*
He shut the door but grinned wildly at the suggestion of leaving.
"Oh, she'd hate that even more," he said easily, leaning against the wall by the coat rack. "But sweet merciful gods I could stand ta get out o' this house - I'm goin' stir-crazy here!"
"Yes," he said, sounding more eager and excited at the idea of leaving. "Yeah, let's go somewhere - anywhere. Don't need to go for long, aye? We can pop someplace for chips or somethin' an' be back before they get back from Gran's."
*Michael*
He quirked an eyebrow as he smirked at Seamus.
"Ya up for flying all the way to London? If ya can't apparate, we can always floo into the ministry or side by side apparate."
*Seamus*
His jaw dropped and he thought for a moment, then grinned.
"Yeah, why not? What's the difference, raylly, between going to the corner and going to London? It'd be nice t' go t' Diagon, we've not raelly go' anythin' like it here, just a few assorted shops downtown. Hold on, let me go change."
With that he bounded up the stairs two at a time like an eager puppy, then returned a few minutes later in a Gryffindor-red jumper, jeans, and with his travelling cloak over his arm, wand sticking out of his pocket.
He grinned at Michael.
"Let's Apparate. I've got me licence, but it'll probably be aysier to side-along, as I've not been allowed out in months."
*Michael*
He nodded.
"Side-along is probably best then. Don't want ya getting splinced somewhere. Trust me, it isn't pleasant."
*Seamus*
He shuddered slightly and shook his head.
"Well, let's go on, then," he said, opening the door and snagging a set of house keys off the front table, waiting for Michael to step out as well.
"House is warded," he explained. "Can't Apparate in or out. Me mam's super-paranoid."
He made a face and pulled on his robes.
"Come on, only got a few hours before I need t' be back."
*Michael*
He nodded as he stepped out the door. Waiting for Seamus to close and lock the door, he grabbed on to Seamus tightly.
"On the count of three, alright? One, two, three.." he said before concentrating really hard and apparating them to Diagon Alley.
Looking around, he sighed a bit in relief that they both made it through alright before smirking at Seamus.
"So, anywhere ya really wanna go in particular?"
*Seamus*
He grinned, shaking off the nearly-forgotten feeling of Apparition, skin practically tingling with the sensation of being absolutely surrounded by magic.
"Oh, it feels good t' be here..."
He sighed happily.
"Can we go t' wotsitcalled, the place with those chips that are so good that you think you've died an' gone t' heaven? An' I want t' pick up some sweets before I go home..."
*Michael*
He laughed as he nodded, feeling a bit guilty considering how happy Seamus was.
"You'll have to lead the way to the chips place. I don't know all the places here in Diagon that well. And we can pick up some sweets too, although do ya mind if we stop off at the Ministry. I gotta drop something off before we head back to your place."
*Seamus*
"Okay!" he said, bouncing on the balls of his feet and heading towards Gringotts - the chip place was near there.
He hummed cheerfully as they went, absolutely revelling at being back in the magical world.
Once he'd eaten his chips (and shared a few with Michael), he got his snacks and nodded to Michael.
"Okay! Ta the Ministry!" he declared, clutching his purchases in one hand.
*Michael*
He nodded, apparating them to the Ministry entrance. Getting into the phone box and seeing everything right, he quirked an eyebrow at Seamus.
"Have ya ever been to the Ministry before?"
*Seamus*
If he hadn't been so thrilled to be free, he'd probably have rolled his eyes. Instead, he just grinned.
"O' course I have!"
*Michael*
He laughed as he shook his head.
"Hey, ya never know. Were ya just passing through or were ya a trouble maker?" he teased as he led the way through the Ministry towards Umbridge's office.
*Seamus*
"Heir of Gryffindor," he explained, grinning. "So a little bit o' both."
He looked around.
"We goin' t' th' Minister's office?"
*Michael*
He blinked a bit in surprise before nodding.
"Yeah, I got something I need to drop off to her. Ya don't mind do ya?" he said, stopping a moment outside the antechamber doors.
*Seamus*
He looked around. Something was prickling in the back of his head, but... he shrugged it off.
"Nope, no problem."
*Michael*
He nodded before opening the door into the antechamber and ushering Seamus in. Walking up to Marietta's desk, he smiled warmly.
"Hey Marietta. Is the Minister busy at the moment? I'm sorry to come without a meeting."
*Marietta*
She grinned up at Michael.
"Oh! Hey Michael."
She nervously smoothed down her hair.
"Ummm hang on, let me check... You and your friend can just hang out a minute, ok? Who is your friend by the way?"
She smiled at him. He was cute too! Since when did such cute young guys come to meet with Umbridge?
*Seamus*
He flashed a cheerful smile at Marietta.
"Seamus Finnegan," he said, going forward and offering his sweetest smile to her along with his hand.
*Marietta*
She blushed and took his wand.
"Wow. Seamus... You grew up in the past couple years!"
*Seamus*
He cocked his head and closed one eye, then recognised her.
"Oh! Marietta! Marietta Edgecombe! Oh, blimey, so have you!"
*Marietta*
She smiled and blushed a little redder.
"Yeah, that's me..."
She seemed pleased to be remembered, much less flattered. She turned to a small fire burning on the corner of her desk and began speaking to Umbridge
*Michael*
Leaning against Marietta's desk, he smiled as he quirked an eyebrow curiously at her as she finished talking.
"So, can she manage to squeeze us into her busy schedule?"
*Marietta*
She smiled at him sweetly.
"Of course. She was rather surprised you're here. But she said she'll see you now.. and that Seamus should stay out here for a moment. She'd like to talk to him too when she's done with you."
*Michael*
He nodded as he looked curiously at Seamus.
"That sound good? I'm sure Marietta wouldn't mind sharing some of your snacks while ya wait," he teased.
*Seamus*
"Okay!" he said cheerfully, grinning over at Marietta. "Marietta and I can can up on old times, maybe," he said happily.
*Marietta*
She laughed.
"Not that there were a whole lot of old times..."
*Seamus*
He winked at her.
"No, but we cuild pretend there were..."
*Michael*
He laughed slightly as he shook his head.
"Well, I'll leave ya two love birds alone," he teased before heading into Umbridge's office.
