... when I look at this art next to the Dolorosa & Sufferer/Karkat & Kanaya one I did a while ago, it strikes me.... I guess I have this thing about having characters optimistically lie to themselves.
But it is a tried & true narrative trope, building up hope just to tear it back down.
I had originally wanted to put Bec Noir's shadow over Karkat, but I put my light source in the wrong spot, so. Bluh.
(It occurs to me now that if I'd still wanted the dramatic impact that much, I could have shoved Noir's sword through Karkat's chest, which would also have given a lot more opportunity to put blood splatter all over the drawing... but I wasn't thinking I guess! Wonder if I should still make an alternate version, I've got the psd saved...)

Homestuck has a fandom. It's a fun fandom, but it's not perfect! Sometimes there's shipping drama.
My favourite response to shipping drama is to draw my favourites, and also various permutations of those, because I am a filthy fangirl who likes multiple pairings.
A multishipper, if you will.

I should draw more Kanaya and Rose, because I love them together.
In the aforementioned pairing drama, somebody--I think perhaps UrbanAnchorite--threw out a phrase that I think came down to "genderswapped Vriska/Terezi/Dave/Karkat," and you cannot leave phrases like that out where I can see them. It's just a bad idea.
There is probably more that I am forgetting. XD; I've been posting a shitton of sketches and silly art to tumblr, because it's easier than uploading something to photobucket and then posting it here. Also the number of notes and reblogs and such is so kind to my ego...... ♥
