I come to you today with both provocation and a bit of sad news. This will be my last round as moderator of this group. I have been struggling with real life issues for the past several months and have not been able to dedicate the time I would have liked to this fun community. It's been a tough decision that I have been struggling with for quite some time, but in the end it had to be made. At least I got to spend a year with you all and keep the comedy flowing! Never fear though, for I leave you in good hands. In fact, I leave you with this group's very founder, sunsetmiko! But enough about me, let's get to the comedy!
Provocation 33: Breaking the Fourth Wall

Fourth wall? What is that? And how do I break it? To answer your question in short: breaking the fourth wall is when a writer has the characters realize that they are fictional. Thinking of a stage, the actors can see out of the "fourth wall" that separates them from the audience. They can address the audience directly or just acknowledge that they are there. It is a device often used for comedic purpose, and I challenge you to do so here!
Since this is my last prov, I would love to go out with a bang, hence the large word max. *hint hint* Of course, as always, word maximums are not word requirements; shorter pieces are always welcome. I look forward to all the entries!
