THE COMICS NEVER END!

HERO

Hero is possibly the most amazing thing I have read recently; so much so that I, not too far back, made a post just for its sake.

Hero is the story of a golem, and the warring past that he cannot remember, as he travels through various doors with Valentine, a man he meets after entering a mysterious tower.

Hero is drawn in dreamy watercolors, and rather than speech bubbles the dialogue is read by hovering the mouse over the images, imbuing the story with a sense of inner thought rather than interaction. The colors are almost all pastels, sometimes in contradiction to the sharp urban attitudes of Valentine and other characters.

Seriously. Read this. Everytime I do I am incredibly inspired to want to go do artsy stuff.

Metrophor
http://metrophor.org/

Metrophor is the story of Sheeli, a half-Cossan girl (in-story race/species, not really determined) who acts as a translator-for-hire--or a thief. After her merchant employer, Dhaku, loses a valuable business deal because of another merchant's tricks, she and a friend search for the culprit--but that information leads to much more than simple competition.

Metrophor has a unique, exotic feel to it; it's not at all a well-known comic, and the art is inconsistent in its quality, but the storyline is interesting and definitely worth looking into.

Mixed Myth
http://mixedmyth.comicgenesis.com/

Mixed Myth is the story of a half-goblin, half-elf named Keeva, the beer-loving kelpie she... sort of... befriended, Puck, the incredibly forgetful sphinx Tamit, and a werewolf... whose name I have forgotten. Their journey involves warring over the draconce and the warlike spirit that inhabits it, as well as dealing with petulant elves (who are descended from rabbits), the Hunt, holier-than-thou sphinxes, goblins, and at one point, a possessed teddy bears.

Mixed Myth is one of those fantasy humours--it's often deep, but it also has clever parody of fantasy cliche and stereotype. For example, the mysterious magic known as "Cynematyk."

The art quality, by the same author as Metrophor, is not always consistent; it begins at a fairly amateur level and the improvement by its finish is marked.

The ending may be slightly disappointing, because it seems rather hurried. Still good, but a little sudden.

Over all, it's excellent. I love it. Read it.
