Thanksgiving--in my journal--Take 2!

Nov 25, 2004 12:12

I can always tell we're suffering/loving the holiday season when my mom buys new stuff in masses...or I'm sitting here, writing to you dressed--but I know I have to change anyway. Lol, yes, I'm not ready for dinner-which should be lunch.

I have to get my clothes out of the washer, switch em..I'm sitting here in my skirt and button up shirt looking like I'm missing something..could that be a tank top to go under it? Maybe. God, having no makeup on is a weird feeling..lol.

I need to get up a couple of grades...I have to get a job. Anyone notice I've been saying, "I need a job!", since I was twelve? I promised myself I would get my lazy, spoiled, second-daughter ass a job..because no one else will make me. The reason? Look back at the other sentence.

Hmm..I feel really happy that I'm old enough to know that I can get ready for events by myself, and my parents won't tell me I don't match..fix this, that. Blah..;-)

I'm not sure what Kate's doing today. I haven't talked to her in awhile. I know Amanda's at her Dad's, with her Nicki, Marrissa, and Alicia. Tyler's visiting family in Tampa.."thankfully" (why MUST they call it Thanksgiving?!), his mom is coming home tonight.

Call me a good friend, but I would have a hard time eating dinner if I knew Tyler and his dad and Shelby were without his mom. I guess it's because I know how it feels to have some one go away from weeks at a time, pretty frequently. I haven't been with my dad for Christmas since 6th grade, and it's because of his job. And that was a pretty bumpy year, considering . .. and he had to go back that night. In 7th grade it was just my mom and I watching movies in the dark. It was weird and depressing as hell. 8th sucked the most because no one came down to see us.

Ash, I know you're going to read this sometime..and I know you're not coming down.
So just save it..I hate getting my hopes up because it's hard to hold it in when I know in my heart you won't. I love you guys.

So my brother's mom and step-dad Phil (AKA "Phil and Chris"-"Phil and Chris"-"Phil and Chris" [That's ALL I hear!]) are coming over to join us..that would be, myself, rents, Jenn, Mike, kids...

WHOO. Do you hear the excitement in my voice? Well, my friends, that would be because last year on Thanksgiving my family relentlessly teased me...to NO END, I'll tell you..and I had to run up here and write in my Blog(drive).

But, this year, I'm older. Wiser? Who cares. All I know is that I have to hold in my anger/tears/whatever it is this year to make my parents happy and show them I'm not always on my period on holidays. =-O
