Okay, soooo I hope no one still reads my journal...that is, when I actually post an entry.
Why do I hope no one does? Because I'm going to boast my butt off about school.
I realllly want to tell SOMEONE, besides my parents..., so I figured I could do it here.
I think it's more like I just want to get it out, rather than tell someone.
Okay. To start off, for my first semester, I ended with a 3.8 GPA.
I know, as a freshman taking general education class, who cares???
I DOOOO. But only because it's having quite positive effects.
First, my coach is nominating me, along with three others on the team, to receive some award because we're athletes who kept out GPA's up.
Second, I was invited to join the Freshman Honor Society. I don't have to participate and I don't have to keep a 3.5 (what you need as a freshman to get into FHS), but of course I'll participate and try to keep a high GPA...
Another thing, I was forced to be a rep. for the rifle team, along with another freshman, for SAAC.
SAAC is this program for athletes...they have SAAC programs at lots of colleges all over.
The other rep. doesn't care about it...he's still pretty cool though.
Either way, I felt the need to pick up the slack because of his lack of participation.
Sooooo, I've done some work with SAAC...
The lady who runs the program nominated me and one other athlete to go to this National Leadership Conference in like Florida, Texas, California, or wherever.
All expense-paid, good for the resume, etc.
If I can keep my GPA above...either a 3.5 or 3.2 (I can't remember)...for the end of the spring semester, then I become a Scholar Athlete.
There's chance of getting on the Dean's List, too? I have no idea. I didn't look into the requirements for that...
I think this is about it. I'm done now.
