I had been ill myself and sleeping late this morning, so came late to the news that's all over my flist and FB and twitter and gmail, that Diana Wynne Jones has died. I've only wept at the deaths of three other authors: Tolkien, Lloyd Alexander, and Madeleine L'Engle, but I did shed a few tears at this news. It feels like a personal loss, even

Though I somehow missed her books as a child (and an adult), the eulogies I've read today make me want to find and read them all, right now.
