I listened to an interview (on
KCRW's To the Point) with Borzou Daragahi who writes for the Los Angeles Times. He flat out said that the US has released zero evidence for its claims that Iran is sending weapons over the border into Iraq in support off Shiite militias. LA Times ran
a story with a similar point, but they didn’t go as far. This is really important and I wish it would be discussed more in the national media. All of the rhetoric about the evil Iranian government is a little heavy handed, and it’s preventing us from rational diplomacy./
This weekend I had an event at the Barton Hills Country Club. It's in a ritzy residential part of town, and in fact, "Barton Hills has the
highest per capita income of any other location in Michigan, although it is not commonly used for reference because the village has fewer than 1,000 households."
Many of the surrounding houses look like cathedrals, or maybe castles, and probably because of their strict ordinances: "
(a) Permit Required. It is hereby determined that fences, walls, satellite antennas, solar panels and windmills are structures which when constructed, erected or placed with a fixed location on the ground require review and approval of the Village of Barton Hills Village prior to the installation thereof."
Got that? Don't even think of putting that windmill up without prior authorization. The people of Barton Hills are good oil burning folk, and they don't take kindly to your alternative energy sources.

Just caught a review of a
Sundance film called "
Crossing the Line" about an American defector to North Korea. He "soon became a film star, playing the evil American again and again." For some reason I've seen the mainstream media North Korean propaganda video (I mean documentary) multiple times. I can't recall the title - it's something about silence and terror I think. It highlights smuggled footage from a public execution. I'd like to see this one though./
I leave you with this (albeit quite old hat)
