And really, it's all about where I am in life. I mean, I can't run off and join the circus. I have my lovely wife and I can't disrespect her like that.
I'd like to join the fucking military. I'd like to do it tomorrow, but I can't. I have obligations. I can't get swept into some war 4000 miles away and leave my wife here for a year. It's disrespectful.
There's plenty of work to be done right fucking here though. Right here in TOWN. My god, the meth, the crime. Insane. I always thought, hey, it would be neat to start some guardian angels vigilante group or something.
But hell, why not just enforce the law the official way? And get paid?

For whats it's worth, I think you would make an excellent cop. I don't know if it is different down there, but here there is training offered at the area college. A two-year "Criminal Justice Law Enforcement" is what most departments want, but you can get by with "Police Academy". You already have college credits, so I am sure they would transfer. You have management experience, and I am sure you could advance fairly well.
Honestly, you should look into it. Of course there is some danger, but far less then the fucking military right now.
Honestly, all you need to do is go put in your application at a few local departments. They will train you if you get hired, you dont have to go to a school for it. So, if thats something you want to do, sometime in the next few days, go by the police department, get an application, fill it out and turn it in. Dont forget to try a few places, like Craighead, Poinsett county as well as the city, and get in any city you can. Kevin Holt is now working at Trumann, but he started off part time in Lepanto, or Black Oak or somewhere like that.

usually jobs don't worry to much about credit istory unless you are going to be handling lots of money. maybe they are worried you'll take bribes? who knows man. I can totally see you as a cop though. a fucking cop.
I'd follow the advice of the guys who say just check with local departments. Most cops I've met have been to the police academy though... and, you know, trained alongside Mahoney, hightower, tackleberry, and jones... and later bobcat goldthwait
