(1) so i bought this random-ish double cd by this band have a nice life at aquarius, one of the few albums i've ever bought while listening over the loudspeaker in the store, and it's awesome -- goes from post-rock to some weird (but lovely) goth-rock (and no, i don't like type o negative) to doom metal. awesome, awesome purchase

What area are you looking to live in LA?

i want to live as close to USC as possible without the sketchiness of campus itself -- so i'm looking for apartments in silver lake and echo park and maybe los feliz.

Yeah, the area around USC isn't the greatest, but there are some pretty nice places nearby. A friend of mine used to live in a 3-unit walk-up right off Vermont and the 10 freeway. It was really nice and the area wasn't terrible. Silver Lake and Los Feliz are pretty pricy, and Echo Park is getting there, so good luck.
