Despite having been owned by a
Quaker Parrot for over a decade, it was only this week this that I actually saw the rare (mutant!) cousin of my Puck. I was looking at cages with Evil Lurker last weekend and there's no way to go into a pet store without stopping to look at the birdies. The blue ones look like
this. Pretty! I like green and I wouldn't trade Puck, but there's something about the blue ones...
Actually there's something about all Quakers. You've got to love a parrot that is illegal in some states because they are too hardy to die when they end up in the wild. And by wild I mean places like
Brooklyn where they
eat abandoned pizza slices and
infest the telephone poles with their nests. And y'know
taking baths with starlings or just
hanging out in the snow, having apparently forgotten they're parrots.
WEIRD! But very cool.
