With a little help from
poshlil , I managed to set up and backup my LJ on DW. At the moment there's something wonky that prevents journal comments to also be copied, but otherwise I'd say the journal is about 95% identical to LJ. I'm testing the cross-posting now. :p
Overall first impressions? It is a lot like LJ. I admit some small, recurring annoyance with all the pink and red behind the scenes. The lack of Scrapbook or a Scrapbook-alternative though guarantees LJ as my primary account still. I can't help it! I've taken for granted the ease of adding multiple photos in multiple size options directly from Scrapbook and shudder at the thought of manually copying and pasting from photobucket again. :p
Anyway, there's been talk of a mass exodus from LJ into DW for years. The changes in Friends page customization might be just the push needed to finally fulfill the prophecy. But until that happens I'm sticking to "wait and see" mode.
