The art of reinvention

Its said every day is a chance for a new beginning.  But I believe the beginning of a new year, more than any other time of the year, is when the feeling (and more importantly, the resolve) for change is strongest.

The most important thing I learnt from 2009 is that change can't come around if we don't do something to get it first!  You can't eat new food without first venturing out for it.  But Procrastination is one of the most difficult obstacles one can overcome, and it never gets easier no matter how many times you face the bugger.  I've only recently realized, however, that its less a fear of change and stepping out of the comfort zone of 'Normal' and more a fear of giving your hopes up.  Afterall, self-confidence is a very VERY fragile thing.

Which is why it is so important to find yourself some super-strong motivation! Without it, resolve can't be an unwavering resolve.  Fear of failing can't be replaced by the confidence to pick yourself right up again.  Support from friends and loved ones can only take you so far.  Such motivation has to ultimately come from within-- a pursuit of love, a lifelong dream, an insatiable desire to not pass Life without answering a certain 'What if I do...?', or all of the above!  We only have one life to live.  Might as well do our best to make it worth our while.

So here we are, at the start of a fresh and clean new year.  A chance for a new beginning, new opportunities, and... a new you?
