mother's day update and THOOOOOOR

May 09, 2011 19:13

For mother's day, my family ate at Mango's, a Vietnamese noodle house and sushi bar. It was actually pretty good, the sushi decent the prices reasonable for the quality we got, although higher than what we usually pay for Vietnamese food. She liked her purse organizer and mug. All is well... for now.

This weekend is my graduation! I'm excited even though we've given each other so much grief about it, and we have to pick up our cousin from the airport during the awards banquet. I just want to get it over with now so I don't have to see my family again to be quite honest. Now if only I had a job...

The job search is going poorly! I spoke with the pharmacists at Wal-mart and I am going to email them tonight asking about openings in the area, but we won't be able to take boards for a while, so it sounds like they'll be taking us on as charity until we are licensed, which makes me really depressed. I spent so much of my life trying to not shop at Wal-mart if I am by myself, trying to support the non-corporate-giants by buying at corporate non-giants, but I may have to work at Wal-mart, so this clash of morality with reality will cause me to one day shoot myself with a gun I bought at Wal-mart. But I spent almost $200,000 on college and pharmacy school, I am going to have to take what any company will offer me and say "Thank you for hiring me." That's how society works, people doing what they don't want to do, if we were all as lazy and as carefree as I want to be nothing will get done.

Mini movie review, for my memory
I am Number Four: saw this at the dollar theater. I liked the visual effects fighting near the end, but the acting/story wasn't the greatest. I admit it could be worse for a teen movie, however. I think I just never understand why aliens look like humans, it throws me off every movie I watch. If I created an alien race, they would be like hyper intelligent shades of blue or constantly reforming balls of magnetic charge, they would not look like good-looking humans, that is not being an alien. That is being an alternate universe human where you have plastic surgeons and make-up artists and soft lighting at your beck and call.

Princess of Thieves: Keira Knightley playing daughter of Robin Hood and being all independent and breaking the rules. Her acting has improved since this movie, and there were some good parts despite its predictability. I liked the Sheriff here, he was hilariously evil. What I don't like about this movie is how quickly the main characters fall in love, I know being in immediate physical danger apparently makes you horny for the first living creature you see, but I never buy it. Guess I've never loved or felt immediate physical danger!

Thor: saw this today at the matinee, well worth the price. Note the complaints of the first 2 reviews, that is what I'm going to say here - ridiculously good looking alien falling in love in immediate physical danger. However, I am mollified by the ridiculously good looking alien's totally ripped bod. Parts of the story were really engaging, funny but not too contrived, but the movie ignoring important logic and basic Norse mythology bothered me, haha. At least Thor will return! I can't wait to see at least X-men First Class and Captain America, I don't care if the stories are good or not, I just want to see old-fashioned hair and clothes from the 40s and 60s.

That's all...

Have a macro I made for you Game of Thrones viewers.
