Ryan’s Hair
People think Ryan’s got red hair. He used to. He used to be a redhead, and that’s how his beard still grows in.
But I think his hair’s yellow.
Not the sickly yellow that little kids use to paint the sun in their pictures.
Not the honey yellow that people think is warm and comforting.
No, Ryan’s hair is more of a hay yellow, like summer time wheat, just before the harvest.
When you run your hair through his soft curls, they’re a little brittle, but still soft. And the little wisp of hair at the back of his neck, the little turtle tail, I could just sit and play with it for hours.
I like Ryan’s hair, he lets me play with it sometimes, lying in bed, his head on my chest.
People think Ryan’s got red hair, I don’t.
Short fluffy thing. I’m fine with that.
