Rachel vs. Comcast Cable

Jul 07, 2005 00:58

I got the cable turned on Saturday (last Sat in June). The internet failed to work at the time, because the serviceman failed to tell me how to turn it on. Sunday, the cable went out around 3pm. I began calling the cable company around 2pm on Sunday (in an attempt to get the internet on). Nothing happened on Sunday becasue the cable was out in the whole area. So, Monday rolled around, and I began calling the cable company again. They did nothing because there was outages. On MOnday night, I called again, and I made some head way... but nothing significant. Finally on Tuesday I convinced them to send someone out. They scheduled him for Thursday. Wednesday at 8am I called an "ordered" them to come out on that day. So they sent someone, but he didnt do internet. So, the cable got fixed on Wednesday after 75 hours of outage. Alas, the internet still didn't work. So I called Wednesday night and I got someone "scheduled" to come on Thursday. However, no one showed up on Thursday, and I went out of town. Tuesday I came back, and I began calling Comcast again, the phoen was busy for 4 hours... finally I found an alternate number. I got someone. They are sending a serviceman out on Friday because I'll be out of town on Thursday, again.

So, though I went without cable for 75 hours, and internet for what will be 14 days... the cable company has paid. I called them about 21 times, and they ended up crediting my account upwards of a hundred dollars.
When they set up the cable, I paid $60. I called about my bill today, and the lady told me that the balance on my account was $155. So far, Comcast has credited my account $95, and once my internet is finally back on they have promised to credit my account for 2 additional weeks. Muwahahahah. I win. Bitching does get you somewhere, or at least it gets you some money.
