the weather has been pretty strange and crazy this week, espesically the last couple days. Just a little bit ago Toto wanted to go for a walk. As we were heading outside (about 12:30am) I noticed something odd.
auroraceleste, don't look now, but it is snowing!! It is the second weekend of April in Kansas and it is snowing (Ok, Aurora, "Cherry Blossoms", cold, white, frozen, falling from the sky and melting on contact cherry blossoms).
Just last weekend it was was sunny and warm (and while I was in St, Louis, not KC) I was running around without a jacket and the temps were in the 60's if not warmer. The weather has been cooling off this week. Yesterday we had rain, sun, and storms. There was strong storms. I think some would be considered severe. I know that there was very strong winds. though the storms seemed to last only a few minutes than would pass. throughout the day it would rain, stop, rain, skies, clear, cloud back up, rain more, etc then the thunderstorms came in during the evening. Some were severe but as I said they would only last a few minutes. There was a little bit of hail. the most I saw was a few minutes of pea-sized hail. Although the news last night reported some upto quarter size.
Today hasn't been bad, just cold and cloudy. the only weird/odd thing about today's weather was tonight's snow. That didn't seem to last long either. I don't see any now. I just poked my head outside. I can see some flakes blowing in the yard lights but unless the light is shining on the snow (cherry blossoms) you can't see them. As warm as things have been, there won't be any accumulation as the snow (cherry blossoms) are melting on contact with the ground.
I took a few pictures. You can see spots of light off the snow from the flash but it isn't very clear that it is snow. I may post one or two if they look any better on a bigger screen.
On another note, I dropped my film off tonight from last weekend's Steampunk photoshoot. I should have them back Sat. they said they should be ready by 5pm but I'm hoping they will be ready earlier. I will be picking some of the best photos (digital and film) and posting. I already provided a copy of the digital photos to the SLCG, I'll be sending off a copy of the scanned film pics as well (photo lab is scanning them at a 8.2 megapixel resolution). Now I just need to work on the video. I'll post a report later this weekend as well as the second part of my Anime St. Louis con report.
Update: It's Sat afternoon and we continue to get light snow to occasional heavy sleet. In fact, we just got sleet for about 5-10 seconds then went back to light snow. Well, this is what can happen in early spring :-)
