Testing so far

Jul 19, 2006 19:43

Well it's been a while since I updated here. Not a huge amount has been happening. I have been doing a lot of uni work and trying to get as much of the testing done as possible before I start working full-time. I've done 13, so only another 27 to go... It's slow work. I wanted to get three more done today, but only managed one, due to the fact that one person forgot, and the other didn't really have enough time. Some of the results are quite funny, although due to ethics reasons I can't actually show anyone the results of individual people. I can however highlight some of the mistakes that are most common. Microsoft Word is by far the worst, as it barely manages a 90% accuracy rating, whilst Dragon manages about a 98% accuracy rating for each user. Common mistakes for Dragon are 'Luncheon net' for 'Luncheonette' and 'at' for 'it', and visa versa. Microsoft often has 'light' for 'late', 'cancer boy' for 'counter boy', 'tape' for 'tip', 'birth' for 'both', 'acute' for 'the cute', 'phosphate' for 'fast food', 'this be a' for 'a spear', 'grip' for 'grab' amoung many, many others. It's amusing to sit down and read all of these to analyse them. I've realised that when I start full-time work, I am going to be so busy and exhausted, that at the end of the year, I am so going to need some kind of holiday.
