A Note on Television

Don't ask me where this post is coming from. I've just noticed recently that there have been a lot of things I've been watching that I think have been of note.

Alright, so from my last post, we all know of the terrible death of Toonami (whyyyyyyyyyy). Onwards!

House has started up again. Yeah, I know that's it's lost a lot of it's viewership in the last couple of seasons because of the bullshitness of the diseases they've come up with, but as my mom, a trained doctor and practicing psychiatrist with an MD says, if they didn't choose ridiculous diseases, then they wouldn't need a master diagnostician like House to figure them out. The big thing this season, though, is the increasing homoeroticism between House and Wilson. Now, I am a slash fan. I write it sometimes, I read it often, and I support it always. But House/Wilson is just one pairing that I cannot deal with. I can't imagine House with with anyone, frankly, except for Stacy and maybe Cuddy. And Wilson? How many times has he been married now? Three? And now he's freakin' devastated by his girlfriend's death. He's like, the straightest the character ever. AND YET THE GAY PERSISTS. Cuddy, setting them up in "Couples Counseling"? House stalking Wilson and trying to find a Wilson replacement? Good God! House writers, stop it!

Next: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. As Tom has been saying, the dub does not suck. It is in fact quite wonderful. AND STEVEN BLUM IS FANTASTIC. THE VOICE OF SPIKE SPIEGEL AND VINCENT VALENTINE IS A QUITE SUITABLY FABULOUS LEERON. +500 INTERNETS TO STEVEN BLUM. And as usual, the rest is epic. The only voice I don't really like is Kamina's and that's irrelevant since he dies =D.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. Took me a while to watch this one, since I was wary of Rahimi's unadulterated hate for it. However, his hate was based upon the fact that CLAMP did the character designs, and I actually like their art, so I gave it a shot Glad I did. The story is very good, though it's not as good as TTGL.

Heroes: SEASON PREMIERE WAS EPIC. THAT IS ALL.

J.J. Abrams and the anime equivalent of him, Gainax, both have new shows this season. I have to decide if I'm going to watch either, since there is 99% chance that both are going to start off amazing and then quite suddenly suck, as with most of their work (i.e. CLoverfield, Lost, Alias, Gurren Lagann - wtf were those last three episodes; throwing galaxies?! - and Evenagelion).

That's it.
