Combat Action Badge
So we're haing a debate about the Combat Action Badge, or whatever they call it this week. I could care less, I'm not going to get one anytime soon, stuck here in Fobbit land, and I think that people who are shot at should be recognized. But, hey, 10 years ago I almost had my skull broken (thank God for DuPont and Kevlar) and a knife stuck through my gut. That was some close shit, trust me, but it happens.
The debate contnues, and lo and behold, the Stars and Stripes has a picture of the new badge, with an M9 Bayonet and a fragmentation grenade behind it. Never mind that 99% of the people who get it will never be in bayonet or grenade range of an enemy, I understand the intent. Then I'm looking at the picture, with the bayonet superimposed over the grenade, and I said to everyone, hmmmm, hey, doesn't that look kinda PHALLIC!!!!!!!!!! ROTFLMAO Way to go to the Army institute of Heraldry! I reckon this badge means that you have the BALLS to engage in combat!
