08/03/2008 - Photo Of The Day

Day 68 was the day of ending my masterclass. NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I woke up in a bad mood, probably because I was so tired. I drove myself in to Cutting Edge where we were all meeting. I parked in a big oval parking lot and paid my two dollars. This story will be important later.

Went into Cutting Edge, happy that I wasn't late. The one thing they kept drilling into us is DON'T BE LATE IN THE FILM INDUSTRY OR YOU WILL BE HATED! We got to go into the $3million telecine colour grading studio and watched all of the footage that we shot being colour graded. It was so awesome! I know it's something I would like to learn in the future. I love colour grading!

We spent a lot of time watching the footage and talking about light and colour. Most helpful. Then we had lunch. Pizza. Ick. Not helpful. I had one tiny bit and felt sick so had no more. Stupid lunch choice!

We had a few new cinematographers join us for the afternoon session, namely, my mentor! Everyone knew him, which wasn't a surprise, and all the students were like MENTOR ME! I am very lucky.

They did a Q&A session and once again, my eyes were opened. Everything just falls into place once someone answers one little question. I love it!

I won't talk much more about it, apart form it was obviously awesome!

We wrapped up and I got my fancy certificate with my name spelt right. It's a nice change. I said goodbye to the people I wanted to say goodbye to, and walked across the road to the carpark.

The gates were locked. No one was in the area.

My car sat alone in the middle of this carpark, locked up!

I realised that my phone was at home. DAMMIT! So I run around trying to find some people. I'm freaking out. No phone! No contact details for the company who owns the car park! No one to help me!

I finally find a woman packing up a market stall. She tells me no one who owns the carpark was there anymore (it was only 3:30pm) and I should try down at the next building to see if they had an after hours number for the place. I tried. They didn't have a number. But a nice lady lent me her phone so I could call my mum. She came and got me, and also called the people who owned the carpark. No one would be there until 12 tomorrow, so I will have to drive down with mum then to free my car.

There were NO signs in or around the carpark saying it would close at a certain time. NONE! Stupid stupid stupid thing. I hope it's ok. I am stranded without my car!

So that's that. Tomorrow is Sunday and I have to miss church due to no car situation. I think I might try and figure out how my lights work for photography, and maybe even see a movie with Tim once I get my car back. I really want to see a movie. It's been ages!

Today's Video: A little commercial that I think is really beautifully shot.
